Live from Salomon

Post by TrvlJohn »

Parked at Caneel (now$20!) and walked over to Salomon.
It is a pretty day. It really hasn't been as hot and/or muggy as it has in the past at this time of year.

The problem is that teleportation hasn't been invented yet.

Still here. Walked the trail back to town and got a couple of sandwiches at the Grotto and brought them back to the beach. I am a hiker so it was fun for me. TrvlKaren thought I was insane-nothing new there.

Here is another picture.

Beautiful! We need to make sure and get to that beach next trip.

How long was the hike for the sandwiches?

I am a hiker and it was 20 minutes to Mongoose Junction. It could easily take twice as long if you take your time and/or need to rest. be sure to carry a bottle of water with you.

In the past, we have eaten breakfast at the Grotto and bought sandwiches to go at the same time and put them in the cooler to carry to Salomon but I didn't think about it this time.

Curious-is it $20 to park if you are eating/drinking or only if you are not putting out money there?

When you arrive at the gate you are given a white ticket and told to park in the visitor lot. Before you leave, you have to bring the white ticket to the front desk with either $20 or Caneel receipts which add up to at least $20 and you will then receive a blue exit ticket.

To the best of my knowledge, Everyone has to do this - even if you are going for drinks and/or dinner.
