We're not getting any younger, according to my husband, and so we're planning a last minute trip to St. John. Last time we stayed at a lovely villa with our two daughters, this will be a trip just for him and me, and our accommodations don't need to be luxurious, just clean and fairly quiet.
I have done some forum searches for affordable lodging, and found a few places that might do. Any suggestions for places to stay are always welcome, we can travel January - March and will probably stay about 10 days. We prefer the Coral Bay area but we're open as to location.
I'm so excited I can barely breathe!
It's been a rough year, I'm recovering from Lyme disease and feeling a bit weak. The first thing I plan on doing when I get off the ferry is purchasing a floaty noodle. I have a mesh seat that requires the insertion of a floaty noodle. I will not be denied.
I can't wait to check out all the beaches I missed the first time around.
Here's a link to the first installment of my previous trip report, where I tried to reverse the arrow of time and shape the universe around me so that I could remain on St. John forever. It didn't work the last time, but maybe I'll have better luck this year.

Have you checked out Harbor Lights? It is on VRBO and I did a trip report on it a couple of months ago. It is reasonably priced and included tax when we rented it and it is on the Coral Bay side of the island.
I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with Lyme Disease.. My nephew has had it for years and it's awful. I hope you enjoy your stay sans daughters. It is such a different experience when you are alone. You will definitely enjoy it!

Check out Villa Adeste. Real nice, real reasonable, nice owners. It is a 3 br, but you only have to use one. (2 are on the lower level.)
