San Diego Tips/House rental suggestions

Post by flip-flop »

I am planning a trip to San Diego next August (seems like its HIGH season there). Houses I am finding are either dumpy or $4000 and up.

Any suggestions on areas to rent. While we'd love to be beach front, beach near and close to attractions would be totally fine.

Need a house that sleeps 9 - 5 adults and 4 kids. At least 3 bedrooms.

I know the area around the Convention Center and Coronado but know nothing of the outlying areas.

help if you can!! :)

We stayed in Ocean Beach, in a house too small for your needs, but it was a really neat little neighborhood, lots to see via walking, easy in and out to other attractions/destinations, and the prices there seemed reasonable. If you're there, Ocean Beach Grill has fish tacos to die for - got them twice in one week.

We rented a house years ago that slept 17 on Mission Bay. Great house, with beach. No longer available, but there are others. Walking distance to Pacific beach and other attractions.

Great location.
P.S.
Ocean Beach is the "home" of fish tacos. Best in the West.

I forgot to mention that from Mission Bay, you are very close to SeaWorld and can view their fireworks nightly.
