JetBlue to STT and STX

Post by tjwgrr »

JetBlue will commence service to STT from SJU and BOS; STX from SJU beginning Dec-15. The official press release from JetBlue is supposed to be out later today.

From http://jetblue.com/wherewejet/:

New daily nonstop service starting soon between:

Boston, MA (BOS) and Santiago, DR (STI) starts June 17, 2011*
New York, NY (JFK) and La Romana, DR (LRM) starts November 16, 2011*
San Juan, PR (SJU) and St. Maarten (SXM) starts November 17, 2011
San Juan, PR (SJU) and St. Thomas (STT) starts December 15, 2011
San Juan, PR (SJU) and St. Croix (STX) starts December 15, 2011
Boston, MA (BOS) and St. Thomas (STT) starts December 15, 2011

* Subject to government approval

------------------------------------
Quote from a forum I read:
------------------------------------

<i>"The intra-Caribbean service to STT and STX will be operated with E190 aircraft. The BOS-STT flights will be operated using A320 aircraft.

Flight Schedule:
Depart SJU 0825 Arrive STT 0855
Depart STT 0930 Arrive SJU 1005

Depart SJU 1510 Arrive STT 1540
Depart STT 1730 Arrive SJU 1805

Depart SJU 1425 Arrive STX 1505
Depart STX 1605 Arrive SJU 1650

Depart BOS 0935 Arrive STT 1430
Depart STT 1520 Arrive BOS 1929 <b>(via SJU)</b>"</i>

------------------------------------

SJU should offer decent connections to a handful of cities. Apparently JetBlue is poised to pick up some of the slack left by AA, since I've read AA will not resume BOS-STT this year.

If this is a prank, I hate you because we've been waiting 5 years for this. If it's real... WOOO-HOO!

There is nothing quite like having 30 or so TV channels to flip through to make the flight pass by quickly. I love JetBlue. The personal tvs are genius. I also heard they will have wifi shortly. Heaven.

Great news! First JetBlue trip to San Juan in February was very good; and the young cockpit crew knew how to hustle going back to Orlando! This is an option we have been hoping would happen. :D

Now if they'd just expand that a little bit to include San Diego or Long Beach! ;)
