Trip Report, Europe Day 9 Provence region of France
Due to our difficulty finding our last hotel….we decide to proceed directly to our next hotel and then take some side trips from there….so our next destination.
our hotel, Sous l'Olivier, in Buis-Les-Baronnies in the Provence region of France approximately 3 hour drive away…We take the Motorway and then local roads
Scenery from car window on the drive:
our locally owned hotel….the son of the owners did speak English…nice clean basic rooms, BUT air conditioned which was nice…a lot of the hotels state they have AC on the website, and it might just be the lobby that is air conditioned.

We unload our bags and leave to explore surrounding area….

On our way to Brantes
Beautiful Little Village, Brantes, France….
TIP: in small villages in France restaurants only serve meals during meal times
We were so hungry because we had not taken time to stop and eat. It was approximately 3 pm, and all Brantes had to offer was ice cream, so we head back to Buis-Les-Baronnies, but all the restaurants there have to offer is drinks….so we pick up snacks and wait for dinner time.
We finally decide to eat at the hotel for dinner….very good choice…..one of the best meals of the trip…choice of lamb or grilled pork chops….and crème Brulee for dessert……
Next day…spontaneous day of the trip…free day and NO hotel booked since we were not sure which direction we would take…we needed to be within a few hours drive of Lyon, France for our flight to Venice the following day….will this be a mistake or a great adventure and surprise???
