Short Term Villa

Post by VirginBurger »

Hello all -

I've spent the better part of the day trying to find a villa even though we will only be staying for 2 nights next week. All the villas have a 5 to 7 day minimum. I am willing to spend the extra money just so that we dont have to stay in an unoriginal hotel room like at the Westin. As nice as they are, I really would prefer the "island experience".

Do any of you know where I might find villas willing to rent for only a couple nights? I cant imagine they all have 100% bookings so 2 nights is better than nothing?

Thanks for any URL's or web sites

the house we normally rent on the Coral Bay side, Casa Tua, is open next Thursday and Friday. If those dates work then go to VBRO.com, pull up Coral Bay and look at Casa Tua. It's a great house right on the water, wonderful Island experience. If your interested PM me and I'll send you the rental manager's email. It's booked every other day next week.

Here are some that I found. I really think calling an agent makes sense though. They'll know which villa owners might be interested in taking a two night stay.

Lovermont - thanks for the links -

I am not seeing anything on those links that indicates those units are available for individual nights. Even though they list nightly rates, I have been told they still have minimums of 5 to 7 days. Are you sure these units go for night by night durations?

Can you tell me who to call?

Thanks.

I don't know. I just used the search utility on the site, and plugged in your dates. I used to own a small hotel, so I sort of understand how property owners and managers feel about very short stays. If there's a hole to fill, they may want to rent for just two nights. But generally speaking, it's a very labor intensive way for them to make a couple hundred dollars. VRBO properties are all privately owned, so it's a matter of making contact with each property. As you know, there aren't very many hotels on the island, so that sort of limits you.
I don't know if you've considered an eco-resort. You might want to see if Concordia has any availability in their new studios:

Ahhh!

Here's a great resource for others in the future. Tripadvisor shows rentals and specifies that some have minimum rentals of 1 day, etc ... perfect!

I take it back. Those Tripadvisor listings say 1 day minimum, but when you try to book them, they change to saying "5 day minimum". How frustrating.

vb,

cloud nine villas offers short stay options for last minute open dates in their villas. web site offers sundance in choc hole/hart bay for 3 nites 6/7 to 6/10. so clearly offering 3 days and they often offer 2 days. might give a try. comfortable villa with full ac.

we stayed at Battery Hill for a couple days once when we were on island for ten days. This is 8 units of privately owned 2 BR condos in Cruz Bay within walking distance of Beach Bar, etc. We stayed in Rainbow's End unit and it was fine for us. The number for the management people is 800-348-8444. hope this might help. :D :D

I know you are looking for a villa. But have you tried Gallows Point? Not a hotel room, in Cruz Bay! Just another thought for you!

Thanks everyone - and I hope this thread helps people in the future who can't do 5 days minimum. We got lucky and found a 5 day minimum condo who was willing to let us stay for two nights. So we're set!
