First Time Stay in Coral Bay 4/24-5/2 Final Report

Post by cool breeze »

Well it is late thursday and time to head over to Shipwreck for dinner.

This was our first visit to Shipwreck and it did not disappoint, meal was excellent as was the staff.

Friday brought with it kind of a "kick back" day with alot of hanging at the villa with a couple of our friends that we made.

<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... friend.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... friend.jpg" border="0" alt="Our new friend"></a>

The cat was one of the friendliest we have ever encountered, came every day for his fresh ration of tuna and burgers, wish we could have taken him home with us, just a great cat.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... nt=CAT.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... ay/CAT.jpg" border="0" alt="Our new found friend"></a>
Friday was a huge anticipation day for dinner at Aqua Bistro, we had spent every "Happy Hour" there all week and were teased with mainly appetizers knowing we planned on having dinner there on friday night. All I can say is "WOW" what a spectacular meal, first off can't tell I was totally relaxed by this point, And yes I had enjoyed a few Painkillers before dinner.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... illers.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... illers.jpg" border="0" alt="Painkiller Bliss!"></a>
Our favorite place on the Island

And of course food porn! The best grouper I have ever had.

<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... rouper.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... rouper.jpg" border="0" alt="Awesome Grouper"></a>
Cindy enjoyed the grilled ribeye.

Saturday took a trip over to Mongoose for souvenirs and was welcomed by

Back to Skinny's later for lunch and a picture from their cove.

Saturday night we enjoyed our last happy hour at "the hut" as I named it.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... thehut.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... thehut.jpg" border="0" alt="The &quot;Hut&quot;"></a>
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... thehut.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... thehut.jpg" border="0" alt="Chillin at &quot;The hut&quot;"></a>
Sunday morning a quick stop at Donkey Diner for breakfast.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... ydiner.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... ydiner.jpg" border="0" alt="Donkey Diner"></a>
After turning in our jeep it was time to head to the Best Western Emerald Beach for the night before our early flight back to New England. This was also a first for us instead of taking the late flight out on sunday which puts us home around 2am we decided to try the stay in STT the night before routine. The resort was very nice. I have included some shots of the overall atmosphere.
<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... eachbw.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... eachbw.jpg" border="0" alt="Best Western Tiki Hut"></a>

and a beautiful last shot to end a beautiful week.

Thanks for the trip report and especially the pics of your island pets! We too are daily visitors to Aqua Bistro when on island. I don't know what it is about that round bar facing the bay but there is no place more relaxing to enjoy some shade and something cold to drink.

Yes "The Hut" is just the way I referred to the bar at Aqua Bistro. You will certainly enjoy the atmosphere there, all of the bartenders especially Sharon are the best! Have a great vacation.

Thanks for posting; we too enjoy having a cat around while we're on island. Makes it more homey or something. We've done the Emerald Beach last night thing too and it works well. Looks like you had a great time-have to start planning the next one!

Leslie again we are going to miss meeting you and Steve by a couple of weeks  . We wanted to experience a Halloween at Skinny's so we actually are going a week later than we usually do. Anyhow one of these trips we will cross paths. Enjoy your October trip!
