Good Place for a Girl's Night Out?

Post by GotToGetAway »

I'm trying to plan a Girl's Night Out for myself and a friend during my upcoming trip (Woo Hoo!!).

Can anyone recommend a good place where two thirty-somethings will be safe, have a good time, being able to hear each other (read- not too loud) while getting a drink or two? We'll be coming from Fish Bay, so Cruz Bay area would be better than Coral Bay side. Also, anything at the Westin (I don't have any experience there)? Thanks in advance.

The Westin has a quiet bar at their Beach Cafe Restaurant. I think it's open till 10:00 PM. Also, Mongoose junction has a quiet bar at Ocean Grille. Go up to the second floor and check out the Brew Pub. They have an outside patio for drinks and is pretty quiet. Have fun!

I'm not sure if two repetitions are enough?

Well I suppose u get the STJ message:

Finding a golf course -----> big problem
Finding a villa on the beach -----> big problem
Finding a roller coaster ------> big problem
Finding a road u can drive over 25 mph on ------> big problem
Finding a crowded beach -------> big problem
Finding fast food--------> big problem
Finding mean people --------> big problem
Finding a place to park in Cruz --------> big problem (well maybe not big?)
Finding a safe bar ---------> NO PROBLEM!

Good to see STJ priorities are in the right place.

Any of these recommendations are great. I am a bit partial to the High Tide myself. I just love the feel of that place. Joe's Rum Hut is another nice spot. Enjoy wherever ya go. Use common sense about walking around when it gets real late and dark, not the time to wander down dimly lit streets. Have a blast!

Is the correct answer: the pool at my villa?

Kidding. I think you'll enjoy all the places in Warfside Village that were mentioned above, especially The Beach Bar. Even if it's too loud next to the bar, you can always go sit in the chairs on the beach right below it.

About the only thing unsafe there are the landsharks :D

I detest Woody's. If you like the potential of topless girls doing body shots then maybe Woody's is your bag but it isn't mine. Another forumite described it once as the kind of place guys go to strut around and puff out their chests

Personally I like the Beach Bar though it can be loud if a band is playing.

Best...advertisement for Woody's...ever!

To each his or her own and certainly don't blame you for not wanting to be a part of an episode of Girls Gone Wild, but in defense of the bar, it is called, "Woody's" after all. And though the bathroom there makes you feel like you're at Confession, I'm pretty sure most people passing by the bar don't confuse it for a Monastery.

The outside bar at The Lime Inn is also very pleasant.
Enjoy!

I concur, I love The Lime Inn's outside bar, they serve some of my favorite adult beverages!

I agree with ExitZero.

Happy hour at Woodys, then move up to the balcony at Quiet Mon and watch the world go by (with a few more rum punch), then move on to whereever else strikes your fancy.

Regarding Woodys being a bit tawdry, I get my rum punch and find a curb to sit on across the street and watch the goings on. Don't have to partake in any of it (at my age). It's all fun.

Thanks everyone. I'd knew you'd pull through with great suggestions.
Well, Woody's doesn't seem my style either. And last time I was at the Beach Bar it was quite loud and crazy, which is good if that's what you're out for, but I just want to spend some quality time with a friend I don't get to see often.
But the rest are on my short list, we'll have to choose when I get there (again WOO HOO)!

I was mainly concerned about the safety factor when walking back to the car at night. I'm from NY, so I'm always watching out, but usually I've got hubby with me.
