Kiddel/Grootpan snorkel

Post by Tim from Chicagoland »

Plan on snorkeling both. As long as the water is reasonable We are planning on snorkeling around the western point from Kiddel to Grootpan then walking back to our jeep. Any opinions? What are the entry/exit points like? From "Google Earth" it appears okay. I'd like to hear from someone whose been there, done that. Thanks.

I've done Kiddle. It's not hard to get in the water. It's rocky, but you can wear water shoes. It is a deep water snorkel, but it is worth it. I don't remember anything in particular about the coral there, but there were lots of different fish. I remember that we found a nurse shark, rays, spotted drums, night sargeants, turtles, and best sighting was a big pompano.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Read about this on seestjohn.com/beaches. The write ups on almost all of the shore snorkeling sites can be found here. If anyone knows of another similar site let me know.
