Car Rental Company Parking

Post by Tim from Chicagoland »

what company has the most convienent lot for access in & out of their lot. I've rented on other islands with similar situations & once I got pinned in. Is this a possibility? Which company would you rent from with in town parking being a priority? I don't mind a walk to downtown?
Also, we won't be on island until around 6:30 - 7:00 pm. Would they wait or meet us?

Tim

P.S. I did some searching and found out about pay lots. That will do for me. Now tell me what company you'd rent from that is close to the dock.

Thanks.

I would rent from Penns as imo they have the largest lot. We never had a problem being blosked in when we would rent from them before we moved here and they would leave the keys for us but do check they still do that :)

What villa rental agency are you working with? We usually let them handle our Jeep reservations and they pick up the keys for us since we always arrive after hours.

Owner direct.Great rate. By no means luxurious, but we won't be there during most the mornings & afternoons. Unless If i feel uncomfortable with this issue I'll ask. From what I've read there are at least a few that will accommodate us. Five months away. How far in advance would you reserve?

Does the owner have a property manager or a greeter that might be able to pick up the keys for you? Every house that I've ever rented had a greeter to pick you up at the ferry dock and take you out to the property and show the ins and outs of the house. It's the greeter that has the keys for us to our Jeep. We rent through St. John Car Rental and usually can park in their lot. The only time we've had problems parking in their lot is during high season. I usually reserve my vehicle as soon as I know my dates. I suppose it's not necessary to do it as early as I do but I like to have that checked off my list as soon as possible so I have one less thing to think about. I would do it at least 5 or 6 months out though for sure.
