Celebrity Sightings

Post by STTlover »

We all know of a famous Mr.Chesney who owns a home and frequents the islands, but what about other celebrities. Who owns a home or who have you seen while vacationing on any of the islands?

I'll go first. My family has seen Ray Bourque twice on STT. Once in the airport and once at Duffy's two years apart. I believ he may own on STT.

Sorry, I am sports retarded so I had to look up who that was

Honestly I don't remember ever having a celeb sighting on STJ or STT but given my state of mind on vacay I probably wouldn't recognize my own mother.

The one thing that's cool about STJ though is that even when there is a celeb on island they generally get left alone and treated just like anyone else. 8)

I mostly run into famous folks on planes and in airports. I once accidentally flung a peice of paper into Joe Theismann's face in First Class. He was really gracious about it considering... (yeah that's how I roll) 8)

I thought I saw Usain Bolt in Cruz Bay one time, but upon closer inspection it was really St. John Ruth!

....then I saw the chicken...

Don't feel so bad I just had to google Joe Theismann.

My sister almost had a run in w/ Dave Matthews. A couple years ago they had gotten to Molly Malones to learn that Dave was just in there getting drinks and got back on the boat he was on. She was besides herself.

I saw John Brandi once, then I thought I caught sight of the Bongo Boys...but it was some one else. I ran into Cheech one time...I like his VI Summer Pale Ale.

Oh yeah, I met and even talked to Anthony once! That was great! Of course I always see Ruth, Ron and Pia and Les....celebrities all!

The only celebrity I've seen in the Virgin islands, is Morgan Freeman on his boat in Virgin Gorda yacht harbour. That was 2005.

But I would probably not recognize Mr Chesney, even if I saw him.

I don't know the guy's name but does anyone remember the 80s movie Better Off Dead with John Cusak?

The guy that played the jock/popular dude/awesome skier guy was our waiter at the Stone Terrace in 2005. He was out to steal the affection of the pretty French exchange student away from the John Cusak character.

Last fall that master Coral Bay renovator, Les O., was identified as he was picking up pizza at the Donkey Diner... nice guy - even stopped to chat a bit.

Although I had never even heard of him at the time, I recently realized that I likely had passed "Joshie" at the entrance to The Marketplace in 2008. Funny how things just fall into place at times... doubt he remembers me
