We're here.....part 2

Post by rpplano »

We started the day by going on a Friends of the National Park snorkeling seminar. "Lucy" was our FVINP guide. She's an astute marine expert and really knows her fish. On the boat, we were joined by two other Forumites, Snorkelqueen and SJfrom NJ.

Sadie Sea took us to 2 sites at Lovango Cay and then finished at Scott Bay.

We saw the usual coral formations and fish and were joined by a 4 foot "friend" under the boat.

I took these pics with a new Canon D10, wasn't sure how it would perform. Ate a Hercules Pate for lunch, chilled at Cinnamon until sunset, then dinner was a Bleu Cheeseburger at Skinny's. ... it was a very good day!

Great shots from that Canon! Yes, Lucy is fabulous -- she ran the snorkel concession at Caneel for decades until she retired, and they still want her to come back! Anyone who ever gets the chance at a trip with her, you will get a great tour -- she knows where to go and exactly what you're looking at.

It was part of their 2010 Seminar Series which ran December through April. This particular event just happened to fall on a day we were on STJ. Check out their website for possible future events...lots of different types of activities available.
