Airfare be damned!

We took the plunge and booked our first villa in St John even with huge airfares looming! Hopefully airfare will creep down by when we go in July. So we need good thoughts for lower airfare and great weather in July (no hurricanes!). We are all so excited! Thanks for all the great info this board provides! Kim

We are also going in July. I am mailing my deposit for our villa today. (I hope the mailman can get up to our house with all the snow.) Airfare dropped to $503 per person roundtrip with arrival (hopefully) before 3 in the afternoon. We are flying out of St. Louis. What week are you going to be there? We will be in St. John July 6-13 and then in the BVIs July 13-20.

You're doing our dream trip! St. John for 1 week, BVIs for the 2nd! We're there the same exact time! We got lucky on airfare - flying Spirit Air out of Myrtle Beach! Have fun!

The airfare is crazy! We fly from Memphis and it has been around $630 RT and I have to buy 7 tickets! I hope that it drops soon. In the meantime, I'll check it on Tuesday nights (in the wee hours) every week. If we have to drive to Atlanta and fly we will!

It can be alot of work finding good airfares. I usually use "Fare alerts" and also always use the "dates are flexible" option. I usually try to nail down a good airfare before a villa...but as you say...sometimes it is "damn the airfare" too!

It would have been ideal to get a great airfare first, but we wanted this particular villa and are kind of stuck with our travel dates anyway....oh well, it's only money!
