Christy Ann villa questions
Hi everyone,
I've been reading this forum for a few months now and finally decided to join so I can ask some questions. I've been looking into Christy Ann villa in the Rendezvous Bay area and I have a few questions about it. My trip dates will be 4/19 - 4/26.
Anyone have any experience with this villa? What is the area like? The rental contract says something about possible construction in the area, which has me a little concerned.
I'm basically looking for a nice, clean place with a great view for around 2,200 or less for a week. Any input is greatly appreciated. More questions to come. Thanks!

Welcome nsaint,
Can't help you with a place to stay. We're newbies, our 1st trip is this April, 4/17-4/24.
You should add some more info as to what you might be looking for, so that those in the know can direct you better. Theres a cottage owned by the same owners as ours but is very simple, no a/c, no pool, hot tub. Called New Moon. Most people want more amenities than this though.
You will get ans. to any question you might possibly have here. This site is terrific for info and all the members jump right in to help.
So ask away.

Your budget is all we have to work with as far as your potential trip. It's a decent one, and you'll find plenty to choose from.
As mentioned before, you have to ask yourself-
Sunset or Sunrise view?
Number of people in your party?
Children friendly?
Pool,hot tub?
A.C. ?
Near Cruz Bay, or the quieter Coral Bay side?
North Shore,South Shore?
Closer to beaches or town?
Give us something to work with, and you'll most likely find your perfect scenario! Also check out www.vrbo.com . Poke around and see if you find somewhere you're interested in. Then you'll easily be able to narrow the search with help from us forum nerds.
Good luck, and always
Smiles-
MJ

Villa/Trip Advice
Thanks for the replies...and here is some additional information
View - Sunset
# in party - 2
Pool - would be nice but not required
Hot Tub - would be nice but not required
A.C. - Preferably
Location - Close to beaches
Obviously this will be my first trip to St.John. I've done a lot of research but it seems like the more I learn the more questions I have. I think we plan on renting a car so we don't necessarily have to be right in Cruz Bay. Would you definitely recommend renting a car? We mainly want to visit as many beautiful beaches as possible and maybe take the ferry to Jost one day.

Villa
You should take a look at Tesseract thru Privatehomesvi.com. If it is available for your dates, it is convenient, has A/C king bedroom and great pool, sunset views and well within your budget.
Private Homes is a great rental agency to work with but they can be a little slow in responding to your initial call.

Just got back from Christy Ann. We really liked it- perfect for our small family. One master bedroom with adjoining bath and 2 loft bedrooms. The loft bedrooms are at the top of a steep metal stair case- a really great idea that saves a ton of space in the villa. The second bath is on lowest level.
You could hear some building going on but I wouldn't call it "construction" noise. When the doors and windows were closed, you could not hear a thing. The noise (drill, hammer an occasional piece of heavy equipment) seemed to start 7:30 ish but was always over when we got back from the beach. The noise was in the distance.
Great sunrise views, pretty views of Fish Bay. The sun definitely beats down on the veranda early in the morning and two days, it was oppressive (I KNOW BOO HOO FOR ME) LOL.
