Wait up, CaliforniaGirl, I'm packing now... don't forget the wine there, as well.
What a wonderful place to live!
(Haven't I said that before???)
Thanks for sharing, Anthony...

CG, it is a remarkable city in so many ways. I remember after my first visit, I said that a small shoe stand outside il Duomo would suit me just fine.

Allan speaking of shoes - I saw the coolest pair of hand made men's shoes the other day - 650 euro! And they actually looked worth it...

Canuck, I'm going to assume you're a woman so to that extent, I'll say sweetie I will never discuss shoes. There are outside of il Duomo many shoe stands. I could care less about the shoes, but just the idea of having one and being in Florence is what I like. Looks like at the amount Anthony wants to pay for shoes, it might be doable.
Now to Anthony. Ain't no shoes at that price that are 'cool'.

LOL - believe me - I am no shopper, or clothes horse - these things were more like art. And Allan - I am not buying them - that is for sure! The most I ever spent on a pair of shoes (still a lot) was about $250 - and that was because I am a very tough fit, with super wide feet, and really needed a nice pair of shoes for some event or other. My wife finally talked me into this pair of Allan Edmonds at Nordstrom's - about 10 years ago. I still have them, and they have been sent back and totally resoled once too... the rest of my stuff is in the $40 buck on sale range

Well, if that's the case, cancel the lease if you're not buying.
