You Go Anthony!!!

Thank you for the new rules and for enforcing them. At one time I was on here, both Off Topic and Travel, everyday, but I have recently been elsewhere. If want to read those type of posts, there are plenty of sites which not only allow it, but encourage it. Thanks for taking a stand.

I support what bayer30601 said and Anthony did! There are plenty of places to have those kinds of arguments, but there are far too few places where we can share our STJ/STT/STX experiences, learn what to look for on the first trip - the next trip - the 15th trip to the USVI, or learn about members' and their families' successes. Let's celebrate what we have and what unites us. Let's leave what we don't have and what divides us at the door.

There are not only few places to get this information, ther are NO places where this kind of quality of information and quality of people exists. All of you have made my trips better, and I would like you to continue to help others have great trips as well.

Thank you for finding the best in our Forum friends and helping to lift them up.

Enjoy the holidays.

I'm in total accord. I apologize to the moderator and to every member of the forum for my part. Thanks, Anthony.

I agree. After returning from our trip I saw all of the stuff that had gone on and that someone had left. Still haven't figured out who, because as I tried to read the posts, there was just so much garbage and it made me sad and I couldn't get through it.

It was really wierd "reading material" because pretty much so much had gone on on that one thread before I had a chance to read (instead of watching it as it the train wreck happened)

Looking at it as an outsider (after the fact) it was depressing. Sometimes when you are in the heat of the moment things make sense, but then after it is over it is really all just a bunch of ranting and raving and just plain meanness.

I agree with Anthony that much of this is probably a result of the general mood of the people/economy. Things just going on way longer than they need to. There isn't as much good news "out there" as there could be so people are getting bogged down in the negative (that is a choice, by the way!)

And there are no winners here- everyone loses in these conversations. Even the ones who don't participate because friends who can't take it anymore stop posting. These are many of the positive people, so it is even more of a loss.

Yes- free speech an issue. But this is Anthony's forum and that shouldn't really apply. He should do what is best for the forum (and his business) and I agree just putting an end to this crap is the way to go.

Getting rid of some of the negative sentiment, so we can focus on the positive and have some fun here. As someone else said, there are plenty of other more appropriate places to go to fight or get depressed!

Anything can happen to us tomorrow, so why not make the best of today.

Bravo Anthony. Even in a free country, there needs to be some rules.

Thanks for calling an end to the personal attacks and name-calling, and for running a first class operation here.

I am glad to see that Anthony is stepping in and attempting to control the situation. It is a shame that this has to happen. This is just a forum and it is a shame that people take it way too seriously. Anthony is providing a place where people that share the same love for a certain location in this world can communicate with each other on different levels about different topics. A difficult task at times, but I give Anthony a huge round of applause for handling that task. I really appreciate everything that Anthony provides us as a form of communication. I have met some really nice people because of this forum. People that have made our trip down to St. John even more special. You are all pretty cool people in my book.

A recent example of this forum getting people together. Sun4mysoul has a buddy Andy that some of us met back on the island last May. I and Sun communicate with each other often and she let me know that Andy would be up in my area for work during Thanksgiving away from his family and friends. I was excited and he was able to join us and spend time with my family during Thanksgiving. It was nice to spend time with someone during the holiday who we met because of this forum.

I just wanted to share that with you because this is really what the forum is all about.

Thank you Anthony for everything you do for “all of us.”

To all my forum friends, happy holidays!

Peace.

Boston Mike.

P.S. Enough with being serious, I will now go back to being a complete idiot.

Thanks to Anthony.

He has politely asked that we avoid the train wreck inducing stuff and we should do our best to abide by his wishes. After all, it is HIS sandbox we are playing in.

Seesh. I leave you guys alone for 5 minutes and all hell breaks loose!

Here's a crazy little exercise for those so inclined. I really try to keep myself from becoming attached to negative stuff. Sometimes it's easier than others but every day I do this crazy little exercise, affirmation, whatever you want to call it in the shower and it helps me avoid some of the effluvia that can stick to your spirit and weigh you down.

Here it goes....don't laugh. When I'm in the shower I pretend that the water is white sparkly light. I ask that the light wash any negativity that is sticking to me down the drain. Also, I ask that anything I do or say that day be for the good....the highest and best purpose. That's it.

I sometimes go on a bit asking favors of various angels but that's a discussion for another day. One step at a time. So there you go. Just my 2 cents. Effluvia. That's fun to say.
