STJ day trip from San Juan?
I'm probably nuts, but was wondering if a day trip to St John is doable from San Juan.
I know, I know... it would be easier to visit Culebra or Vieques...but really want to make it to STJ if its possible.
Any thoughts?

It is not a day trip, in my opinion.
You fly to St Thomas, take a taxi across the island, get on a ferry and finally get there. Then you will have to do it all over again to get back.
I did a quick search on a random day:
Cape Air leaves SJU at 7:45 arrives at 8:18 With morning traffic you will probably not make the 9:00 am ferry, so plan on the 10am.
10:15 arrive in STJ, get a taxi to the beach
Flight leaves 7:10pm so you will need to be on the 4:00pm ferry or maybe 5:00, not sure of secrity regulations to SJU.
If you add it all up:
$200 flight
round trip taxi on STT $30
Ferry round trip $12
Taxis on STJ $20
Lunch and Drinks $30
Approximately $300 per person for almost 7 hours of travel and 6 hours on STJ
