Wedding and photographer

Post by stltimmy »

Good Morning Board,

I know there have been recent threads on this in the past, but I want to make sure I have the most recent intel.

My finacee and I are looking to get married on island next Feb. We got engaged down there last December, so it just feels like the right place to do this compared to back home in the states.

So, for those that are STJ regulars, or those who have been married on STJ, can you recommend wedding officials/coordinators? Also, we are looking for a photographer.

Last Dec, we were at the Jolly Dog in Coral Bay, and the lady there (dont remember her name) was a licensed justice of the peace (or whatever they call them). However, I heard that this place is/was up for sale, and am curious as to if she is even on island. If you know who I am speaking of, please let me know.

Thanks in advance. The info on this board is priceless!

I'm also in the process of planning my wedding on St. John. I've been working with a wedding coordinator; Janelle Scott from Island Bliss weddings. She's located on St. Thomas, but does weddings on both islands.

As for an officiant, we haven't decided on one yet, but I have heard rave reviews about Anne Marie Porter (as Pia recommended).

For photography, we're probably going to use Eric Johnson from Paradise Pictures.

PM me if you need more info.

Thanks Pia and Taghan. Between the two of you, I got some good info on the wedding official and a great photographer.

The person that you were asking about is the owner of Jolly Dog, Jennifer Donnelly. I have never been to one of her weddings but have been to many with Anne Marie.
If you believe in angels, that is what she appears to be during a ceremony. I second the vote for Constance. She is a real pro.

My wife and I got married down there last September. We loved our photographer: Tom Boyd www.caribphotography.com. PM me with your email if you want to see some of my wedding pics.

I have to agree. I was on Cinnamon Bay in April 2008, early morning before 9:00 AM and I watched as Anne Marie married a couple.

Since that day I have envisioned that when my special day comes I am going to Cinnamon Bay and Anne Marie is going to marry us.

I was already sitting on the beach when the couple came along in the morning so I didn't move but I also didn't move closer to intrude on their ceremony. It was only the couple, Anne Marie, a Photographer and if I recall perhaps one other person (so the Photographer and other person acted as witnesses). I have many photos of the ceremony. If you pm me your email I'd be happy to email them to you.

After the ceremony I applauded and the groom came up to me and said "This is the ONLY way to get married".

Good luck and congratulations!
