Villa/cottage/apartment/studio etc for 2

Post by Maggy »

We are planning a one week STJ and one week Virgin Gorda next April and are looking for a place to stay in STJ.

Really want to have: full kitchen, in Coral Bay or close to (rather not Cruz Bay), affordable preferably less than $1500, not too isolated, have some sun on patio or deck. No of bedrooms not important, could be a studio or part of residents villa if it's relatively private.

Nice to have but not necessary: ac, pool, wifi.

Totally not needed, cable TV, DVD, jacuzzi.

Anyone that have a suggestion? Hopefully there will be some off season rates after April 15.

Appreciate your help :D

Just Enough or New Moon: http://justenoughstjohn.com/

We stayed at Just Enough and think we made the better choice.

There are stairs to/from driveway but they weren't really that bad (I'm really out of shape).

Really well maintained and beautifully handcrafted.

Lotsa banaquits to feed, didn't need AC, great view from shower, comfy bed, lotsa deck area, comfy outdoor furniture, good kitchen, quick drive to restaurants/stores.

Thanks LysaC, that looks just like something we had in mind. I agree that Just enough looks like the better one of them. Stairs is not a problem.

And the price is good also.

I will definitely bookmark this one.

We just stayed at WinterMoon in Coral Bay. I'm working on a review right now. It is a wonderful apartment in a private residence. It is easy to find and easy to get to. It also has one of the most spectacular views on the island overlooking Hurricane Hole. It is just breathtaking! We actually found it hard to tear ourselves away from the view each morning to go to the beach.

There are lots of windows and fans and the breezes are almost constant. We never needed the A/C in the bedroom and slept like babies every night. The owners live upstairs and are friendly and accommodating. The apartment is very attractive, clean, and quite comfortable. And the price? It's an absolute steal!

The pictures really don't do it justice; we wanted to stay forever. We can't wait to go back next year.

Looks nice, but is it located in the Coral Bay side? I couldn't really figure that out. Have you stayed there?

What about Sailview, Luna Vista or there is another one that is across from Skinny's or so. I always see it but can't remember what it's called. It's an upstairs apartment.

Hmmm, it doesn't say where it's located. No I haven't stayed there, but it looked nice for the price!

I went and looked on VRBO, and I think I was thinking of Slice of Life, although La Dolce Vita looks good too. Lots of choices there; I am beginning to second-guess myself on my choice with all the deals, but I am sticking with it.

Thank you! I've been browsing VRBO and there's a lot on that site. It's good when you get experiences from someone that have been there.

I've been looking at Sailview but that one lacks a full kitchen and that's important to us.

I'll check on the rest tomorrow, as I was supposed to sleep right now  It's getting late here...

Doesn't look like it's in Coral Bay. Their website says, "Just 10 minutes from Cruz Bay with restaurants & shopping, it's close to what you need. With 33 spectacular beaches to choose from all over the island, you're always a skip and a jump from sand and water. It's located on the south side of St. John, in an area also known as Fish Bay."

This villa is directly across the street from Into the Mystic. It is called Coral Bay Outlook. Right above Aqua Bistro over looking the harbor. Always a breeze, no a/c needed.

I have stayed in Coral Haven right up Sea Grape Hill. Excellent location, easy drive up to the apt. The owners live upstairs, but I never knew they were home. They were great to deal with in booking. Low on amenities, but the price reflects that. AMAZING sunrise views, hammock on the deck, BBQ and full kitchen. They have switched websites since I booked and I don't think this one really has enough pictures to do it justice, but here ya go...
