Great Cruz Bay Villa
Great Cruz Bay Villa
Hi all. I'm getting a little concerned about my villa rental on Great Cruz Bay. We're going on 2/9/07 and are staying at Gull Cottage. It looked great on the website and we loved that it's right on the water with it's own
little beach. I've been to St John before but have never stayed at "sea level".
Can anyone tell me "is it brutally hot when you're so low"? I was depending on the trade winds to keep it somewhat cool.
I know whatever happens we'll have a great time and since the bedrooms are airconditioned, we'll sleep. I just want to be able to hang without sweating and without living in the bedroom. What do you think?

I think you will be fine at Gull Cottage in February. We stayed right down the street from there, but it was in June both times, and we did use our AC. I remember jumping in the pool to refresh, but I don't remember it being brutely hot. You definitely don't get the breezes like you would up in the hills.
there is a nice advantage to being right on the water. Get a couple of kayaks for the week. It is great to take them out right off of your property whenever you want. I don;t know if you have kids, but it sure was fun for the kids to swim over to the WEstin and play on their water toys, trampolines and icebergs. Also, it is nice to be able to walk on over to the WEstin for your morning paper or for a drink at their bar or go to their restaurant. Gull Cottage is in a grat neighborhood to go for a brisk walk in the morning. You can also rent one of those dingys at the Westin.
