Gym in Paradise closed??
I knew it was for sale for $50,000 and lord knows I wish I had that.
But I just heard it is closed. When did this all happen?
No one made an offer or did they just close to make changes?

They closed their doors Tuesday. A real bummer for a lot of people. My son had martial arts class there twice a week. Now...nothing. The kids here don't have a lot of options for classes or sports and we've lost another. He did soccer for awhile but they couldn't find anyone to do the practices on a regular basis. Tough to tell your kids that they don't have class any more. Hopefully they will find someone to re-open the gym. And hopefully the two guys who ran the martial arts class will find another place to hold classes.

Can't they hold martial arts classes at the school of the arts? What about the community center up at Bellevue?

It looks like they are working hard on a plan to reopen. They had to close because their liability insurance wasn't paid (or so the coconut telegraph says). There are a few options that are being checked out for the martial arts class. Hopefully they can get it up and running very soon. Oh, and yes, everything is still inside.

It is sad to see another business close like this on St. John. I and the wife did discuss looking into it when we saw it for sale about a month back. We came to the conclusion that something like that would be too much of a risk to take. Hopefully something good comes out of it and the people that use it will have a place to go and workout.
