Hotel/Villa deal in May

Post by DonnaC »

I was able to get a great price on air to STT on Spirit for an anniversary trip in May..We are looking to stay on St John but right now the Westin is over $600 a night, and villas all seem to be hovering around $350 a night, for nothing which seems "special". Our last trip to St John we were with our children and got a great price on hotwire for one night at the Westin and could justfiy more money for a villa since there was more of us..Any idea when rates at the Westin go down or suggestions??

"Off season" officially starts April 15th for most places. Maybe the Westin will have some lower prices after that date. Good luck!

may villa rates

Post by papabou »

never have been in may but have been once in april and had planned another that didn't work out. seems i remember a lot more villas showed availability in may since that's not the very beginning of low season that usually rents up fast and its before the kids get out of school so there should be plenty of availability. if you don't mind chancing it, wait for a last minute discount.

while i've never rented from them, http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/ has a wide range of villas in good locations a wide range of prices for 2 and offer 10 to 15% off for vacancies at withhin 30 days.
i have gotten some great discounts from http://www.cloud9villas.com but usually book a week or less in advance. their villas aren't luxury, but are well equipped, clean and most have western views that will take your breath away. we have also had good experiences with http://destinationstjohn.com and loved villas temptress and treasure ridge (though currently has construction going on next door) both of which i believe are in the 300 range for 2.

if you really want the villa experience, you just have to look hard and be patient.

happy hunting

If you really want to stay at the Westin, there are some sites you can check for timeshare rentals by owner. Hope this helps:

For Redweek: (May 4th - May 11th - $1,750.00; May 5th - May 12th - $1,800.00), here's the link:

Looks like I'll wait it out a bit..Westin is still over $550 a night for studio and the hotel is over $600 a night..Since it is just hubby and I, think we'll wait a bit ans see if rates go down on some of the villas or see if Westin shows up on Hotwire.

GALLOWS POINT!!!

I think it is quite "special!"

Many of the amenities as a villa - but with daily maid service!!! It is ON THE WATER - so close you HEAR the WATER! There are no sandy beaches - but it is one of the best snorkeling beaches on the island!! A 4 minute walk to Cruz Bay is the cherry on the sundae - no stress of having to find parking - and walking there makes you feel like you live there ;-)

ENJOY!
