What's new?

Post by MarciaMarciaMarcia »

Forgive me forum it has been 10 months since my last vacation to St. John. Even though it's nearly 70 degrees and sunny here on the north coast of Massachusetts I am pining for white sand and turquoise waters and one of my favorite bennies of vacation...dining out. A quick review of recent restaurant reviews shows an Ocean Grill with a good review. I think that is new since our last visit. Anyone else try it and also where is it located? One thread mentioned a new Italian place in Cruz Bay. Has anyone tried it? Did any others new ones open up in the last year? Thanks in advance.

Ocean Grill is in Mongoose Junction. It wasn't open yet when we were there this past Oct. but others have tried it since. You should be able to search the forum for Ocean Grill and see what people have to say. We hope to hit it when we return in Nov.

The new Italian place will be located over Infusions, which is located across from the Lime Inn. The name escapes me right now. Anyway it's an Italian name like Devivo. You can go to the Tradewinds website and look for it in the latest edition of the paper.

Thanks you two. I know just where Ocean Grill must be. That is a pretty attractive spot in terms of "mall" architecture. I remember an unremarkable place there that served breakfast with a couple of cool birds in cages. I didn't get sparkling clean kitchen/bathroom/service impressions so we didn't go back. Hope the new place makes the most of the really decent digs.

We had dinner at Ocean Grill in November; it is tucked away toward the back of Mongoose Junction. Couldn't find it the first night we tried; glad we went back to try again.

The food and service were both excellent. Atmosphere, too - nice and quiet. we had a corner table in the gazebo.

enjoy
