Just got back:(
Just got back:(
Just got back yesterday from a week away without the kids. We stayed at Ocean Garden in Chocolate Hole---interesting to say the least. PM me if you are thinking of staying here.
We had called Rachel a couple of weeks prior to leaving and we reserved her. A gentlemen met us instead which was fine. He was a great guy and a friend of Juan's from Caps place. He had a purple ribbon pinned to his car's visor in memory of him. Told us what a great guy and friend he was--and that he will be sorely missed. He gave us his thoughts as to what may of happened to him. We took the regular van from RH to the airport on the way home and in hindsight I would probably just take the regular van. The charge was $50 with a $10 tip to Rachel's guy and only $30 to the other gentlemen. JMO.
The weather was great low to mid 80's with some clouds throughout the day. Mid 70's at night. I had been looking for the "sunniest beach" without having to turn the chair or have the ocean behind me and Salt Pond won. Francis was a close second (watch for no seeums here after the rain). Both these beaches were new to us. We also went to Maho for the first time. That was super nice too. We also went to Jumbie, didn't stay long because there were a ton of ants and they felt like they were biting. Cinnamon which was great alot of locals there and then around 3 a teacher had his gym class on the beach where the kids played touch football, it turned out to tackle a few times. That was fun to watch.Beware, a man next to us got bit by a Scorpion. He found it and killed it. I thought it was deadly but apparently not. He was sitting next to the trees. We also went to Hawksnest which used to be my favorite but it seems like the north swells took a lot of the beach away. It seemed pretty narrow.
We brought food for breakfast and lunch and made those daily. For dinner we loved Zozo's. Keep in mind we never made a reservation and were always accomodated. We actually ate at the Bar with Carlos the first time and downstairs the second. I recommend the bar spot. Amazing view. We also ate at Waterfront Bistro, Lime Inn, Rhumblines, Paradiso. I would recommend any one of these. We had a few drinks at the Crazy Cracker. I loved this place they have great ideas to get you in. Dustin is the manager and bought me and my husband a shot. They have dollar Margaritas (they are huge) and tequila shots. It was Sunday so my hubby had to get is football fix. Monday is dollar off any drink beginning with an M. Cute ideas to get people in the door. Also we went to Joes Rum Hut--I love the bartenders there, Beach Bar of course, Quiet Mon and Woody's, We went to skinny's for lunch one day and that is such a great people watching spot. Loved the Burger too of course. Can't wait to go back! Miss it already!

P-600, we're just back, too:( I'll be writing a trip report when I have more time. We were also in Crazy Crackers on Sunday night the 11th watching football and drinking $1 margaritas after dinner at Cafe Roma across the street! You have my curiosity piqued about Ocean Garden villa-are you gonna write a villa report?
We were also met by a man instead of Rachel. He was very nice, but like you, we paid $50 plus $10 to RH and didn't feel it was worth it. I think it would only be worth it if you're trying to get there really fast and you don't know that until you actually get off the plane, so booking ahead may not work out as you're obligated to go even if you have plenty of time to catch the ferry. Probably a better value for larger parties as well.
Misery loves company so know we're suffering, too!
