Waterguy - of course you can PM me. I'll make my best to be able to help. I would recommend a visit between May and September, if you're not planning a ski vacation.

On the other hand we have about 65F this week and it's March, so you never know about the weather. I think June is a lovely month and will be a great month to visit other countries in Europe as well.

Originally I was Taminark because my name is Tammy and I live in the great state of Arkansas and no I am NOT a Clinton fan.
After our Nov 2006 trip someone suggested a nickname for me because of our incident at Bongo Bongo with KatiLady and the seafood wontons exploding in the pan. ( Read my trip report in Dec 2006 if you are new here) By the time we got back from the trip the Bongo guys had mentioned on their blog about an accident happening at their villa with grease and wontons and they were going to have to go to STJ to check on everything. Yall all knew we were staying there that week and Mary beth was eager to hear the inside story. After I got the trip report posted it just kind of happened. Some of the names that were suggested were Wontontammy or wontongirl. I let people decide which was their favorite and I went with it. I emailed Anthony and asked him to change my screen name. He was a sweetie and did it for me. It changed it on all of my old posts also.

lpowmacback - I've always wondered about your screen name! I thought it was Native American or something. Or the name of a camp you went to as a kid.

You know...

"Camp Lpowmacback where you can learn how to paddle a canoe, build a fire with two sticks and make your mom a macaroni necklace!"

Bug (as in Volkeswagon)
Blu (as in the color Blue)
98 (as in 1998)

I am not a car person ~ buttttt when they came out with the prototype Bugs I was in heaven. I spent most my younger life driving around with my teenage Aunts and Uncles who all had Beetle Bugs. We would play Punch Buggy until our (or at least my) arms were black and blue. I think they only played because it was an acceptable way to beat on me! Anyway, I put my name on the list and bought one the first year they were made. This is also the first new car I ever bought. I still have the picture they took of me sitting in my car before I took it off the lot. I was smiling from ear to ear. Since then I've had kids and car seats just don't fit well, so I had to trade it in for the SUV. I will never forget how happy it made me to drive that car. It was like getting a piece of my childhood back. Anyway, that's my BUGBLU98 story.

Mine is very boring as well. First initial of my first name and first five of my second name.

Pia, I read what your name meant some time ago on another forum. I think it's the best and am jealous that I didn't think of it for myself (because it would suit me perfectly) :)

Maggy wrote:2catlimit - thanks for the tip about getting another cat. It has to be done after our STJ vacation, because I'm sure my mom, who will take care of the cats during our vacation, will notice if there are 3 cats in the box/cage when we arrive at her place.

And of course I have heard about Bo Kaspers Orkester. My husband thinks they are really good, so he plays their cd:s sometimes. They are also played rather frequent on the radio. They are pretty cool. And it's pretty cool they have fans in the US. How did you hear about them?
Maggy,
A friend of mine has friends who are living in Europe, not sure where, Germany maybe. He copies all his cool music for me, usually alot of it. The first one of Bo Kaspers I got had written on it "Funky stuff a friend from Europe sent me" "Bo Kasters Orchestra". In hunting down more of their stuff, I found the correct spelling of their name.
I've used a Swedish to English online translation site to try to understand a couple of their song lyrics but it's slow going since many words have multiple meanings. I think I've gotten the gist of a few. It's kind of fun. If you don't mind, I'll PM you with a couple of specific questions and see if you can clarify them for me. :)

We have a three year old Blue Merle Sheltie named Buddy. His nickname is Buddles. I also use this for my geocaching name.

Maggy & 2CatLimit-

I just had to jump in and mention that my husband and I have 5 wonderful cats :)...I've been cut off though (by my husband).

We don't have any kids yet, so our 4-bedroom house is more than adequate for the two of us and 5 cats...and I swear to you, I am NOT the crazy cat lady...I just love my babies!

Leaving them behind is one of only two things that I don't like about STJ (the other is the bug bites).

I'm so boring. As you can probably figure out, I'm from the Chicago area. (Now a suburbanite, but with blurred yet fond memories of my single days in Lincoln Park.)

I'll admit, when I picked a boring forum name, I never actually thought I'd post anything. Just thought I'd learn a few things and then go on vacation and never visit the forum again! Now I know it's almost as addictive as that island sun...
