Yeah, orange male cats are definitely troublemakers, but I've never met one that compared to Jasper.

We have another orange male cat that we thought was wild...then we got Jasper and he paled in comparison. Jasper's got something more going on than just being an orange male :)

I love him to death though!

Ok, here’s a question for you Siamese “owners”…do your cats have strange aversions to toothbrushes and/or electric shavers?

We can’t figure out why, but Jasper HATES those items. If you point a toothbrush at him he will bat wildly at it like he’s gone crazy. He does the same thing for my husband’s electric shaver, even if it isn’t on and buzzing. And when I give my husband a haircut Jasper is always standing a few feet away with eyes WIDE and staring…if I let him sniff the clippers he’ll go insane and quickly bat at the clippers over and over again.

He is terrified of those items, but it is hysterical to see his reaction.

None of the other cats react that way. They just sniff and that’s it.

Just one of the many reasons I love cats!

Mine don't have any opinion (at least that I am aware of) when it comes to electrical things. They must not be bothered by our electric toothbrushes because they on the counter as we get ready for bed.

Another Siamese trait - owners are not allowed to use the bathroom alone, interesting things may go on behind closed doors and they will not stand to be excluded.

Jasper fits the bill on that one too PA Girl.

The other cats will come into the bathroom a lot of the time, and Roscoe often goes and sits in the bathtub, but Jasper demands to be in there and cries at the door until we let him in...and if I do leave the door open a crack Jasper will make a grand entrance and make the door fling wide open every time. The other cats will sneak in and the door will barely move...but when Jasper comes in the door bangs because he opens it so hard.

I asked him tonight if he's Siamese. So far he's not talking. That's a first

I like cats but I am allergic to them.

Our backyard is in two large terraces down to a paved tree lined county road. Right before Halloween last fall, we opened the front door to take Phoebe our yorkie out at night and an all white cat tried to run in the door. My husband tried to run it off but it stayed and the next day it was on our deck which is pretty high off the ground. It stared in the french doors all day and slept on the furniture at night. It climbed one of the trees near the road in back and sat on a bird house there. It lounged on the terrace wall as if waiting for someone. That is when I realized someone had dumped it on the county road and it was waiting for them to come back for it.

I didn't see it Halloween night, but in the morning it was back on the deck, staring in and pawing the glass. It just broke my heart and over the protests of my better half, I gave it milk and dog food. Which it inhaled. It was just a half grown kitten really, I wanted to keep it and call it Spooky. My husband (who doesn't like cats) kept pointing out how impractical that was with cold weather coming on, and no place us to keep it out of the cold. That night it dropped into the teens and I put a wicker basket out on the deck with throw rugs in it for the kitty. It seemed to make it through the night pretty well, but I was a wreck peering out with a flashlight to make sure it was still breathing.

I called the local shelters, and none had any room for a cat. One said they would be getting requests for white cats at Chrismas and they would call me.

The young man who was mowing our yard (while he was laid off from his railroad job) stopped by after one last yard cleanup. In desperation I asked him if he needed a cat. He's a man of few words, but he did say that he had seen the cat the last time he did the yard. In the meantime he had mistakenly left the door open at home and let his wife's cat out and it never came back. He figured that white kitten could get him back in his wife's good graces. I threw in the basket and the hand hooked throw rugs and we had a deal.

We called John to see if he could mow our yard this year, but he has gone back to work for the railroad. He said by the way, the white kitten sleeps on their bed and the wife is crazy about it. Happy Ending!

Brenda - did Missy have blue eyes? Do deaf cats understand sign language? Of course they do, but prefer not to pay attention...
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

My husband and I just got a new kittie at a local shelter. She's about a year and a half years old. She's a sweetheart (the shelter named her 'Angel') and truely is one!
