One that is not island tunes but is really really good new music is Journey - Revelation (the new singer has an amazing voice and the new songs are very good).

You’re welcome! That’s certainly a whimsical little tune guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I can’t even remember how I found that. Sorta reminds me of those Flight of the Conchords guys on HBO.

The video looks like it was shot with a Super 8 camera on a budget of about $19.

Another suggestion: The first two Amazing Rhythm Aces albums were re-mastered a few years ago. They include some great island listening, including "Third Rate Romance", "Dancing the Night Away", and "Life's Railway to Heaven". Not strictly speaking a Caribbean beat - more early country R & B fusion. But a real treat.
