Inspections???
All I can think about those who seriously object to any bathroom on St. JOhn is: you must not have done a lot of traveling in your life.
Also want to remind people about the other reason we don't flush for number one: once our rainwater runs out, we are paying $300 a truck-load for a pollution spewing, non-emissions regulated water trunk, driven by a homicidal maniac, to roar down the road with desalinated seawater that is produced by a plant that is also polluting. Make no mistake: it is only the R/O technology that has allowed fancy villas to exist on St. john at all. We used to have water barge that came from Puerto Rico once in a while.....

Hugo...I understand what you're saying, but some bathrooms are so horrible. Throw some bleach in there and spray it down. How hard is that?
It's not like I'm Mrs. Clean, but I've seen some bathrooms that should be shut down immediately.
It's not just in STJ, or STT. I've been to concerts in Philly at a concert and it's the same thing. That's harder to control when you have 60,000 people at the concert.
I'm talking about 1 or 2 bathrooms at a restaurants that probably go for weeks without anyone going in and doing anything.
Know what I mean?

Great points. When I first moved to the island I was horrified but after a while, it is just part of life. When you are dipping a bucket on a rope into your cistern to get water to flush when you haven't had power for a week, you get used to not flushing.hugo wrote:All I can think about those who seriously object to any bathroom on St. JOhn is: you must not have done a lot of traveling in your life.

Christine...are you talking about the port-o-lets at Jazz Fest???NoTanLines wrote:I have used a hell of a lot worse and a hell of a lot better restroom facilities then the one at Skinny's. It is what it is. Wash your hands and if you have that extra uggy feeling, bring hand sanitizer. Nuf said...

I agree with Connie. Try going to a summer concert in Philly. You stand in line at the Port-O-Potty for 20 minutes and finally get in (holding your breath and toilet paper I brought from home). And there, staring at me is a big old #2 someone left ON THE SEAT!!! After gagging for a few seconds, I went anyway.
So once again,Skinny's doesn't scare me.

The port-o-let at Jazz Fest was one of the better rentals I have used. I had no problem hiding out for the 15 or so minutes while the torrential downpour went through. Also, the freaky weed someone was smoking in the unit next door helped mask what little odor there was.nothintolose wrote:Christine...are you talking about the port-o-lets at Jazz Fest???NoTanLines wrote:I have used a hell of a lot worse and a hell of a lot better restroom facilities then the one at Skinny's.
