Yummy! I am making that is weekend. Is it a poblano? I don't know my peppers very well.

MB that looks so good and so easy! I think I'll try it with Anaheim Chiles.

it was long, skinny and sweet. not sure what the heck you call it. something with heat would be nice with a mexican mix. maybe chorizo, black beans, corn, pepper jack or cheddar. yum!

Anaheims are what they use for Chile Rellanos. Was it like that?

That looks really good, MaryBeth. I have not seen that kind of pepper up here, but I bet it would work with a roasted poblano.

Here's some recent stuff.

Tuesday's farmers market. I have to cook those chanterelles in the back tonight and am blanking on what to do with them. Any last minute ideas?

Some farmers market tomatoes and mozzarella, with pesto (this was a two person salad):

From this month's fine cooking magazine, apricot-balsamic glazed grilled chicken:

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I'm catching up on this thread tonight and see I've certainly missed a lot. As usual, it all looks so good.

Canucknyc, what kind of crust did you use for your tart? Will you share your recipe? It looks delicious.

Produce!

Thought I'd show off a bit of the locally grown stuff from our trip to the Farmer's Market this morning. I'm beginning to wonder why I bother to grow tomatoes!

Bad back? That's no fun! Hope you feel better soon. Did you get that breakfast in bed? If so, Charlie did good! :D

nope not in bed but it was worth waking up for!
yeah bad back is the pits. I had a very bad back episode back in 2003 and went through a lot of PT and an epidural shot that finally helped me. Since then I deal with discomfort mostly. If I'm on my feet for hours, say entertaining around the holidays, I suffer the next day. But this is different - my low back feels like its in a vice! I've had something like this before and it was also in August so I'm wondering if there's some relation. Been on heat most of the day so feeling a little better.
We made it to the market and here's part of my stash. The cocktail is also helping! This is tasty if you want to try it - Rum, Coconut WATER and a splash of cranberry. Very yummy!

My, that drink looks refreshing. I love cranberry juice. Bayer's getting quite creative since coming home from STJ. He blended a few flavors of rum with coco lopez and some kind of fruit punch this afternoon. Apparently, he still believes he has pool boy duties and I'm not about to tell him otherwise.

No pic but just wanted to comment that my dinner tonight was redfish (freshly caught two days ago) with CBGR then sauteed and topped with liamsaunt's deviled shallot butter, liamsaunt's coconut sticky rice, mango/black bean salsa made up from a bunch of forumite's salsa recipes, and for dessert, waterguy's key lime pie.

Jeez, what would I do without this topic????

Thanks everyone for all of the recipes and Ruth for the CBGR!!!!
