Born on third base???? I was poor as dirt, had a father who beat me, forced to go to Catholic school, and paid my way through college. I clawed my way to third base, thank you very much.chicagoans wrote:A Republican: someone who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.
A Democrat: someone who thinks we should all stand on second base because it's not fair that some people are better at baseball.

It's a joke, OK? Thought most people would get that, especially since it mocks both sides. Sorry to offend.cypressgirl wrote:Born on third base???? I'm someone who enjoys the debating! We just have to be able to agree to disagree. Just a couple interesting experiences. My patients are all in the category that pay 3% of the taxes. Last month, an Obama supporter came in and registered all that weren't already registered to vote. These are people who can't or won't (some of both) find their way to medical appts that sustain their lives. So yes, the democrats are also finding them a way to the polls. We are not a couple who would be affected by the plan to tax over 250,000, but I think even those of us without that income will see a downside to the plan eventually.
As for teachers, all of my friends who are teachers barely have any time at all away from the classroom each year. Trying to take a personal day is almost impossible for them even though they have them as a benefit. I wonder if teachers missing class to attend classes happens more in certain parts of the country.
Just my two cents on a couple of comments!
