every time my mom calls me from her cell phone (she's 84) we say good bye and don't ask me how but EVERY single time she redials me. And then I answer and go Mom? Mom? Mom? some times she hears me and some times not. It's a routine we have ;)
Oh I could go on and on and on! :)

We grew up on the North Shore of Chicago, Winnetka for those who may know it. My mom couldn't stand it (me neither...it's like what STJ is becoming, but I digress). After we all left the house, she sold that albatross and moved into a loft in the South Loop, Printer's Row area. She now lives in a totally cool area of the Fan in Richmond, Va. She's 80.

We have our differences, of course, but she is pretty interesting.

Enlighten me, Lex. Was your PM from the same person who PM'd Vicki & Teresa Rae? Or just someone who thought you should get a PM since you hadn't had one in so long? :) I PM'd CariBert when he complained about not getting any! LOL!

I feel so left out. No one has PM'd me on this thread! Okay, maybe I don't feel left out. I'm feeling rather grateful. (Knock on wood, now the perp will come out after me :( )

Okay, Marcia, I just PM'd you. Please don't take offense to the part about the midgets with mullets, it's just something I've had in mind for a while.

(If there are any little people out there, I meant no offense. It simply was a joke and no little people were harmed in the typing of this post.)

My Mom got a computer years ago, she calls it "that machine." Every time any of us kids (she's 86, you do the math on the "kids" part) tried to help her with it she would get so frustrated. She doesn't even turn it on anymore. The phone? The TV? The VCR, which has now been replaced with a DVD player? All, way too much for her. Heck, I have a hard time keeping up. Pete is the designated A/V guy in our house. But, I digress...

It's actually kind of interesting to see the speed of progress from someone else's eyes.

Time to read my PM from Pete. I wonder what it might say.

I wish I had any clue who the mystery PM'er is. I have a few choice words!

I just refreshed my recollection on the blue bucket incident. How funny. Although I had forgotten the bit about the MIL glomming the front seat. Mine did that too. Made me insane, a real P/A move. Got so that I wound up driving everywhere just so she was forced into the rear. She finnally got the hint.

I'm now entirley convinced we are twins separated at birth... we have the same Mother. How do they do that. Mine does it with the house phone as well. I just stand bu the phone for a few seconds and it always rings right back.

Hey Jorge it could have been the other end of the horse, right??
My mom lives in Md. and she yells through the phone. I say, "Mom, we aren't using two dixie cups and a string. They have fiber optics now..." I guess old habits die hard, but I'm grateful that at my age my mom is still living since my dad passed away at 51.

Can you post a larger picture of your avitar? Is it true that you have a cherry up you nose? How did that happen? When the picture was taken, did you know it was there? Or, was it one of those unfortunate moments when somebody said, "um, I don't want to make you upset, but you have a cherry up your nose?" Either way, I kind of like it.

I wish I could say that I woke up and lo and behold there was a cherry in my nose but I must confess. I was slightly inebriated, no really inebriated, and I tripped at our villa, Waterfall. I landed in my Bushwacker and the cherry got wedged in my right nostril. My husband saw a photographic opportunity and the rest, as they say, is history....
OK, I put it there just to get a laugh.... :D :D

On that note, I'm certain VickiH has gone nappers and is in the midst of a MIL-driven sedation - RIP.

On Friday, I recommend the rum... again.

Cheers, RickG
