We are checking out of our hotel to spend the afternoon with Elizabeth & Margo before heading to airport for late flights.

I HAVE NO idea what has been written on the previous pages, but I SWEAR I signed a disclaimer at some point.

Let me say one thing.................WE HAD A BLAST!!!!!!!!

All of our forum friends are now lifetime friends, we LOVE THEM ALL.

Once we get home I promise to give you all the TRUE stories.............TRUST ME, I'll dish the real scoop.

In the meantime we leave here with bellies full of some new food and we're all JAZZED up! Elizabeth is a FIRST ClASS hostess..............love ya gal.

Whoops.......my ride is here!

I think we saw more music yesterday than on Friday when it didn't rain...

- Elvis Costello with Allen Toussaint accompanying him
- Al Green
- Tim McGraw (briefly)
- BeauSoleil
- Irma Thomas
- Voice of the Wetlands All-stars feat. Tab Benoit, Dr. John, Monk Boudreaux, George Porter Jr., Cyril Neville, Anders Osborne, Johnny Sansone, Johnny Vidocovich & Waylon Thibodeaux (all on at the same time)
- Rockin' Dopsie, Jr. and the Zydeco Twisters

Jan and Mike caught some others at the Jazz Tent, but I don't know who. I know Jan heard Irma Thomas and was impressed.

As for food, I am sure more was eaten, but I know that the following were consumed:

Cafe au Lait (breakfast that morning)
Rosemint Tea
Beer
Southern Comfort daquiris
Boudin again (think Rick had it every day)
Red Beans and Rice with sausage
Crawfish Bread
Cochon de Lait Po' Boy
Cajun Chicken & Tasso w/ Creole Rice
Chicken Tacos
Catfish Po'Boy
Fried Chicken
Strawberry Shortcake
White Chocolate Bread Pudding
Pecan Pie
Coconut Pie
Sweet Potato Pie
Roman Candy (Rick, did ya' lose any dental work?)

LMAO - dang we ate alot!

Kellee - with all of the rain Sunday, the bread would have gotten too soggy while we were trying to eat them...besides, you are the one addicted to them.

How many did you eat on Saturday?

We miss you too Miss Sassy!

Have you checked You Tube lately

Mike & I just spent the greatest 5 days in New Orleans, our first trip there. Thank you Nothintolose (Elizabeth) for your optimistic & sincere marketing campaign of New Orleans & Jazz Fest. The result of your hard work was a rowdy group of fellow forumites descending upon you for a long weekend! Most of us had not really met the others, a bit here & there maybe. OKAY, I promised a little scoop on everyone…….

Elizabeth: One of the most generous, caring, funny people I’ve ever met
Jerry: An excellent host and someone you’d love to spend time talking to
Cat: Elizabeth’s sister, who is much sweeter & caring than she thinks, my party girl
Kenneth: Two words: GOOFBALL BOY! He’s a hoot. And a real sweetie
Rick: He likes to take pics up skirts & down tops. Rick is a most sincere CUT-UP!
Christine: Likes Elvis Costello, can boogie, puts up w/Rick, and IS sweet!!!
Margo: She IS a California Girl. Love her laid back, fun, happy, ways. A true friend
Kellee: Girl………….you & your SASSY juice. This gal is full of life, fun, and friends

My stomach hurts from too much eating & drinking, my legs hurt from walking (extra for mud-walking), my budget aches form our hotel bill, but best of all my cheeks (the ones on my face boys) hurt from laughing

Ahhh! Two photos and he's stereotyped? Haha! I will add two more:

Jan: Likes Hurricanes so much that we have renamed them: Hurripain!

Mike: Mellow and relaxed, even when the cats & dogs fall from the sky.

For the record, no flesh was harmed in those photos! They were tasteful and less risque' than a Hannah Montana photo shoot. I appear to have lost them...

Cheers, RickG

Here I am! I'm two hours behind you guys again!! Flight home was uneventful... I even slept between Houston and San Diego...and I NEVER can sleep on planes. It's going to take me a week to catch up!! I didn't gain or lose a single pound! Hurray!! Must be that slogging thru the mud. A great workout!

I have 370 pictures to go thru!! That's almost 100 a day! But boy do I have so seriously great photos!! You are ALL in trouble now! LOL!

I have to go to work at noon today... I'm going to be completely worthless!

New Orleans was fabulous! I won’t wait another 20 years to go down and play. The weekend wouldn’t have been the same without our forum friends. Elizabeth & Jerry & Cat & Kenneth - thank you for showing us a great time and being the perfect hostesses/hosts. Kellyanna, it was great to see you again. Margo, Mike & Jan, it was great to finally meet you. Even though I lurk more than I post, it seems like I know you all so well and we have been friends forever. I sure did miss my café au lait and beignets this morning. :D

How about a Jazz Fest weekend redux in St. John?

Cheers,
