Hi Becky – your great turtle pic made me recall how much you liked the painting a Flickr-ite from New Zealand did of a Scott turtle photo I took a few yrs ago.
Remember this?

It inspired me to take yours (hope you don’t mind) and apply the “oil painting effect” to it using some photo software. Came out pretty nice.

jmq of course I remember! It was your awesome photo I was trying to emulate with that picture. Of course, yours is better than mine--no surprise there! :D

That's a neat effect on the picture. Is that a photoshop trick?

Maggy, yes, I love eagle rays. They are so graceful. I don't consider a trip complete unless I see at least one. That particular ray is the closest I have ever gotten to one, usually I find them in much deeper water.

Thats a one click trick with Roxio PhotoSuite. I really like the effect on your photo, esp the sun play on the shell.
