I was just scrolling back through this thread looking for ideas, and found what I posted in April, getting ready for the June trip:

Visit Vie's Beach
Do a night snorkel
Hike the Reef Bay Trail (Ok, this is probably not going to happen, John never wants to go.)
Eat at Sweet Plantains
Have breakfast at the Donkey Diner
Snorkel at Turtle Beach at Caneel Bay
Rent a boat for the day
Take a sunset sail
Visit Brown Bay
Snorkel Chocolate Hole

The only things we ended up doing off this list were the Reef Bay trail and snorkeling at Turtle Bay!

Given my track history, I'm not even bothering with a list for this trip. 8 days and counting...
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Funny you should ask. Here is my actual list from last June. I compiled it based on all the good stuff posted here on the forum.

List of things we haven’t done:

Breakfast at Maho Bay Campgrounds
Vie’s beach
Honeymoon Beach
Ferry to Tortola
Ferry to Jost
Tage for Anniversary
Drunk Bay
Kristen Maize showing of some of her stuff at the Michael Banzhaf Gallery
ZoZos for drinks
Donkey Diner for breakfast

Here's what happened. We didn't take a ferry anywhere. Ted Robinson quit Tage so we went back to Asolare. We went to Honeymoon Beach and also Zozos for drinks before the anniversary dinner. Everything else didn't happen. But, I had a plan and we had another great time anyway.

Cat - just looked at your list before our trip:

beach bar
hawsknest
maho
hike to solomon and honeymoon
waterlemon
brown bay hike and beach
villa pool at sunset
JVD in power boat from OR w/captain

Unless, you hiked to solomon and honeymoon the day you took all the pics, you did all but that and the brown bay hike which is on your list again

Guess we'll just have to go back and finish it off.

I wonder how many items you really get to do
on your 'to do' list.
I would think no matter how much time any of you get to spend on island it is about the beauty and the pace and the just not having anything to do........
it is a vacation......
It is funny to read your lists and realize in the 2 yrs I lived on island I did not do some of these things. I think I would just want to make sure
I saw friends and was in/on the water and got to do some hiking and just chill..........
and some cocktails........:)

Love this thread...like others, we tend to plan things and then get there and the Presidentes call our name from either Beach Bar or Woodys and all goes to he--...!
We tried some new places last month that I would definitely recommend/do again next trip:

Gecko Bar (bonus-they sell those handmade STJ wine glasses for the best price on island)
Tap Room
the new sushi restaurant in Marketplace-Happy Fish?

Another thing I always want to do but never do once there is a hike to Brown Bay or the Reef Trail. Maybe next trip!

We shall see. I know without a doubt that without a list we would do a whole lot of laying around the house "what do you want to do?" "I don't know what do you want to do?" Not that there is anything wrong with that if that's how you like your vacation.

I know that we would have never rented a dinghy and gone off in Hurricane hole for a day last time if I hadn't had a loose list of things I wanted to do. That ended up being my favorite day of the trip!

I like to have a pool of things that the great people on this forum have done and loved to choose from. Thanks all for your suggestions!

Flip Flop – 6 weeks on-island – WOW.

Well, you’ll need the services of an experienced Cabana Boy (aka. Me).
Services includes but not limited to:
1. Cooking all your meals
2. Drinks and snacks served pool side.
3. Watching the young-ones on a limited basis as long as I can play in the sand with them.
4. Making the necessary booze runs.
5. Clean flip-flops at your door every morning.

What’s not included:
1. The Cabana Boy requires Sunday’s off to enjoy the Beach Bar Jazz Jam.
2. Not guarantee on how much booze is left in the bottles after a “Booze Run”.
3. Washing is out – take a dip in the pool.
4. No little umbrellas in your drinks – that’s a Hawaiian thing any way.

Visit Caneel Bay/Honeymoon beach
Sweet Plantains
Aqua Bistro

Breakfast Maho Bay

Night snorkeling

Of course, there are a lot of assumptions that don't make my list!

Cheers, RickG
Way to go RickG!, You want to night snorkel!! Could it have been my "Night Snorkeler" reports that made you put that on your list? :D Parafins......
