I am looking forward to hearing the rest of the trip report. It is too bad about the IPhone, Ipod, and camcorder. I guess if we are going to try to see the bright side 1) you got the wallets and credit cards back and 2) you are insured and 3) deuce has worked hard and saved money!! Without the mishap none of us would have known about that deuce!!

And! We will all take a lesson in keeping track of our bags!

I enjoyed the pictures and can't wait to hear what you thought of the octopus. I really don't like them--I think they are creepy!

Finally here are a few of our favorite shots. Will comment later. Real world calls. Re-entry is so unkind.

Just book it.

Unimpressed, he moved on

Kept my distance from this ray....it had about an 7 foot wingspan

Gorgeous shots! I'm really looking forward to what I know will be another witty trip report.

I may consider selling some organs for another trip....

Life goes on despite the losses along the way... the pic of the boys with legs up out of the water says it all... joy of being. there. in the moment.
Thanks out to you and to Duce(leader)/Deuce(#2) for all the reporting and gorgeous photos!

Great pictures, and fun report. I'm upset we didn't make it to Denis Bay this last trip---loved your photos from there. Underwater shots were terrific too.

Thanks everyone! The camera is just a little Canon G10 Powershot in the underwater casing. I love it.

Iprof, you are exactly right. We felt so fortunate just to be there, the bumps in the road early in the trip faded quickly. Being insured for the lost belongings helps in that department but we are have all vowed to travel lighter and more carefully in the future! Duce has his Iphone back and the rest I'm not worried about.

Another thing I wanted to mention. We weren't chasing that turtle, he just happened right up while the 4 of us were transfixed on the octopus. I didn't notice at first because my mask is the kind that doesn't have the windows in the sides and I didn't see him coming. Then HELLO! We were being very still so maybe he thought we were rocks or something, I don't know. We've seen lots of turtles in the past but that was a first!
