go to monhegan. just do that--honest you will totally thank me.

I almost got thrown out of Monticello. It was a good hair day. Jorge had not seen his brother John for 13 years. We decided to go there and catch up. First we went to Natural Bridge. Then we took Jorge's brother Bill and his kids to go meet their Uncle John at Monticello. Now Jorge and John and Bill were catching up. But they were actually talking about the rooms when the tour guide told them to stop talking. I told her that if she was a professional she would find another way to handle them. The room went deathly quiet. All 60 people were looking at me. So then after that I felt like the barracuda in the school of fish. Everybody walked around me not with me. I think they have my poster there. Something like "Beware of errant tourist".

Seriously, if people here have not seen the Great Lakes, you have to. They are amazing. Michigan is a beautiful, amazing place. The Grand Hotel and Mackinac Island, the Cherry Festival, Tahquamenon Falls, the Painted Rocks. I have friends who are huge campers and outdoorsmen, and it shocked me when they told me they had no desire to go to Michigan. It's a beautiful place, and because it never really gets hot, camping in the summer is not bad. (I wouldn't camp in the cold though.)
