Sorry Lulu, I agree with you on most all of your points but you have the fluffy thing all wrong

Fluffies has nothing to do with weight. It has to do with people wanting everything to be fluffy, and pretty, and happy.

Edited to add:

I have been called a fluffy many times, not just by Jorge. I understand it, I really do want things to be happy and pretty all the time, at least in my interweb world. If I had ever thought that there was any other definition and it was to indicate that I was overweight, the happy, pretty crap would have been dropped and I would have been all over people and most likely never returned to the board.

For the record...I think the two of you are wonderful women (X and Lulu). Lulu, you should not think that everyone here is out to get you. I mean, 90% of the people here really are out to get me, and my skin is thick baby! Lighten up!

Is this our kumbaya moment? I sure hope so!

I think that stinks.

I'm really unclear on what you said. All topics are twisted into political? That just isn't true. I keep an eye out on the OT forum just to look for threads that are political because I love my conservative peeps on this forum. So, to say, "no matter what the topic, people twist it into politics (I paraphrased)" is simply inaccurate.

Huh? Wait, doesn't that mean there will be no women in the hug (using Jorge's definition)?

Perhaps I overreacted. After all, there is no way to read anything Jorge wrote. But I KNOW that people on this board have used the word fluffy to mean fat. I went back and did a search when I said I did, and I saw several references. I found more references to fat people than I did to people who think it's coming up sunshine and roses.

And I think it's funny that anyone would think I'm one of the shiny, happy people. I am the world's biggest half-glass-empty girl. In fact, that's probably part of the reason that my life in the real world is completely and totally shitty. But that's just one more reason I don't need to be insulted here.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I have never seen Jorge or his wife, so I can't comment on their physical appearance and what he meant by it. I just don't want to fight with people and I want to believe that y'all aren't assholes. Really, I do. (OK, maybe I am a little fluffy.)

And speaking of people being hypersensitive, Sox, "propaganda" has nothing to do with any type of political party and is not specific to Nazis. I get propaganda from all kinds of groups trying to further their agenda. As a PR person, I have created more than my fair share. And believe me, this 2nd-generation American isn't any type of Nazi.

Just for the record, I still think I'm going to take a break. I see most of you on Facebook anyhow. The villa is booked, the Jeep is booked (and someone else was in charge this year!), a celebrity sighting is in the works (hee hee), and I don't even really want to go because I just keep thinking that the family that I had when I planned the trip won't be joining me because they are back in dysfunction land. So yeah, my life pretty much sucks right now without anyone calling me fat or whatever they called me.

I was trying to apologize for irrationally going ape on everyone.

I don't get the vibe around here anymore. I can't tell when people are joking or not and I am too emotionally fragile to decipher it.

I don't even want to go on my trip, and I came here hoping I could get in the mood. Now I want to go home and go stick my head under the covers indefinitely. Not anyone's fault but my own, but you don't know what people have going in their lives outside here. I'm not going to bother you with my problems, even in the off-topic forum, because I don't actually know you. But that doesn't mean that it doesn't compound it when someone makes a back-handed comment. That was my whole point: Just think before you say something that might hurt someone.

I've changed my settings so that you can click and e-mail and contact me that way if you'd like. I keep coming here so I can check my PMs and I get sucked back in. Please no hate mail. Ha ha. That's a joke.

What?

I believe Jorge would agree, using his definition, a fluffy or fluffster, could be male or female.

I'll mope over to the lib side... betcha I can get a big ole group hug over there. I would have to wear an Obama button and say I'm really Iprof or someone.

Hey all....

If somebody wants to make a joke..put a smiley face at the end

Lulu..hey hon, take some ativan

Alls good, there's so many personal things that we deal with off this board that this forum is just a very small part of our lives.

We all have our own stories to tell, don't we???

Tonight I'm going to see my daughter who's waitressing...no, not on STJ unfortunately, but hey, she's doing pretty good after loosing her fiance in a car accident. We'll have a couple beers, something to eat, come home, have another couple of beers. I'll take my ativan, go to sleep and have nightmares, but hey, that's my life.

Anybody see where I'm coming from?

It's about 40 degress outside and raining..it's sucks, but at least I'm alive and my cats love me.

This is JUST a message board. BTW, the first time I met Jorge, he was great. He talked to both of us (that being myself and husband, Glenn) and we really got along good together. It's funny how his name keeps on coming up on this forum when he's not even here anymore. We're STT people (OMG!!!) and I felt very much at home on STJ with him.

Everybody have a great night and an even better weekend.

Just came back to this thread after taking a break.

Actually, I recall that Jorge was talking about "fluffers," which is an entirely different thing.
