Yeah, I know. I grew up on Leave It To Beaver. What else can I say.soxfan22 wrote:I believe it was Lex who raised this question last fall.cypressgirl wrote:Cids comment about less bickering and more problem solving reminded me of something I often wonder....why is it that so many on this forum have so much time to post at work. Don't you have work to do? Does your employer not care if your goofing off? I don't see most of you on here on weekends, when it's your own time. I'm a stay at home mom, at least for now, so I have that luxury, but I would think most of you, especially the men, have jobs. Maybe I need to find out how I can get a job like that and get paid to goof off.(I am writing this with a little "tongue in cheek" and not trying to be a bully.) Just wanted to clarify that.
Now that is sexist, cypress.I would think most of you, especially the men, have jobs.

Thanks Ruth, we don't know each other but I am sure you have been respectful all the time in the past two years I have been here...and I like you.
Thanks for being a cool person, I don't care who you vote for.

Thanks to those of you who truly get it.
The rest of you, carry on the normal fashion and please make sure to wish Anthony a Happy Birthday and thank him for his tolerance as you drive away his customers with your "serious debates". At the end of a very long day I am enjoying imagining all of you in your big boy and girl panties.

I don't even know you.
What broad sweeping generalizations would you make about my political views? What do you actually know about what I think or believe? What right do you have to speak of them publically here, when I do not? I keep my views pretty private and I would really like to keep it that way. Please do not categorize me when you don't know anything about me.
Thank you.

I have know Ruth for well close to 15 years. We have spent countless hours chatting about everything under the sun and never did our political beliefs come up in conversation. I have no idea what her views are nor do I give a sh*t. We do not always agree on all topics but we are mature and adult enough to let our differences be just that, different. If she were a Right Wing Conservative...I would still value our friendship.
I agreed with Ruth in this post because I agree with her, not for any other reason.
Your assumption is incorrect, Gina.

Right, and Senator Byrd (Democrat) was once the president of the NAACP.Xislandgirl wrote:She may be a Right Wing Conservative...I would still value our friendship.

Not sure what that is even supposed to mean. I thought that I was clear that I do not know her politicial views and my comment should have started with an IF she was a...soxfan22 wrote:Right, and Senator Byrd (Democrat) was once the president of the NAACP.Xislandgirl wrote:She may be a Right Wing Conservative...I would still value our friendship.
Senator Byrd (D-West Virginia) is a racist, former member of the KKK. The Dems have sent him to the Senate now for 35 or 40 years. Read about him and his history in the KKK sometime, it's interesting. My reference to him being a former president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was tongue in cheek based on his former involvement (actually he held a fairly high position within the KKK) in the KKK.
That, along with millions of other reasons, is why I will never understand why traditionally, African-Americans have voted nearly in lockstep with the Democratic Party.
Ruth, IMO, has about the same likelihood of being a "Right-Wing Conservative" as Senator Byrd has of being a president of the NAACP.
Now somebody is going to find something racially offensive with this post...Queue that up in 3...2...1...
