Does anyone want to go on a "diet" with me?

I too could need to loose 2-3 kilo.

When I’m eating too much, I say to myself, ok, I have to do some more exercise in the future :( .

When I try to pull myself together and do more exercise, it often happens that I say to myself, ok, it’s better I eat a little less :( .

Just now it comforts me that it’s scientifically proved that a little overweight make people look younger :D .

Hi, its morning and I weighed in. I need to lose 12.

I did start the Facebook. It is called VIOL Island Curves. Thanks for the name Bonnie! For those that don't do much facebook, you can join the group without "friending" everyone. So you can join and post and stuff without seeing each others personal info.

We can still post here, but it might be harder. What do ya'll want to do? Both places or one? What I was thinking was if we did the facebook we could have a new "discussion" (post) every day that could start with our goal of the day (I could start it out for the first week or so and then maybe some others could take over-or we could have one person designated for each day of the week or something). And then for that day we could post on that discussion. And each day start a new one so it doesn't get so long.

Or we can post here...

Opinions?

Got on the scale this morning and I'm down one more pound, and I think I can feel a bit of a difference in the way my clothes fit.
Now I must stop browsing the food porn thread!

I used to be pretty obese and started putting on a lot of weight especially on my thighs and bottom in my late thirties. I started exercising as often as possible and also cut down on a lot of high calorie stuff. Unfortunately I hardly managed to lose much weight at all. I then recently read an article by a lady who claimed that she managed to lose nearly half of her weight using a particular weight loss supplement. I tried it out and it actually worked quite well. Within 4 months I managed to lose about 65 pounds. The results were pretty amazing and I feel so much healthier and energetic now. You can read more about the lady's article at

Jennifer.........please tell us more about this product. Does is supress your appetite, make you a nervous wreck, any other side effect?? I am very familiar with Dr. Perricone and just looked up acai in his book, and it's listed as his #1 Super Food. It is a berry from Brazil and I won't go into all the wonderful things he says it does. But it sounds to good to be true.

Not to stir up trouble but it looks like that was Jennifer 8055's first post and it's basically an ad for a diet product.

Smells a bit too much like astroturf to me.... See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astroturfing

If it sounds too good to be true.... just sayin'

I think we should do this on facebook. I'd feel more comfortable over there, this is such a personal topic and we have so many lurkers on this forum!

Of course, that means I have to actually figure out how facebook works. I've been playing around with it, but I still have not figured out even basic stuff like how to respond to people's questions on my photos.

All my food is on my facebook page anyway, and I'd be happy to do a healthy Friday recipe. Not EVERYTHING I eat has cheese and butter.

See you on facebook! Assuming I can find the group, that is. :?

I am with you Becky on figuring out how to use Facebook. I think I accidently joined once, but I'm not sure how. Do you have to post pictures?? I have been sort of anti-facebook for lots of reasons, but for something positive like this, I am willing to give it a try if I can figure it out.

Anyone have a step by step way to do this for computer dummies??

I love the Fri. healthy meal plan idea.

You mean you don't cook like Paula Dean every meal, Becky? I don't think she could make a fruit salad without putting a stick of butter in it.

It is really easy. Just go to facebook.com. You do not have to post a photo.

It is going to tell you exactly what to do. Basically you are going to enter only very basic info. Then it will send an email to you. And you go to your email, click on the link and viola, you have a page.

After that it is up to you how far you go. You can just come back here and click on the link
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=55947594444and it will get you to the group. then you hit "join this group".

If you want to start searching for friends, you go to the "find friends" tab and find friends by entereing you info like email address, high school and college or whatever....it is really easy.

But to do the group you do not have to add people as friends. We can talk pretty much like on the forum but we can organize it better over there. But no one will be able to click on your facebook stuff and read it unless you mutually decide to become facebook friends.

I think what we should do is get as many to sign up on facebook as possible in the next couple of days and then make it a "private" group. Which means that people can't just read our stuff if they are not part of the group. So like I vented about my husband today. I can't imagine him spying, but I would rather him not read it. (guys, it is not that interesting, so if you are not on this diet and you are just lurking, it isn't worth going over there).

So we can still add members. It would be just like if you wanted to join after we made it private, you would just "request to join group". And then since I set up the group, the next time I was on facebook I would get the request I would add you in.

But I wouldn't add my husband!

One other thing. Another reason to make this a private group. Groups are listed in your facebook profile. So my friends (outside the forum) can look on my facebook page, look at my groups, and if the group isn't private, they might check out a group to see what it is all about. Then they can read it and find out I drank 3 glasses of wine last night and ate 6 girl scout cookies. Just maybe I don't want the parents of my Girl Scouts to see that. (I am the troop leader) Not the cookie part, but the wine part and the ensuing argument with my husband.

Not that they would probably look but you never know.

But lets see how many can add first so we don't have to do a bunch of requests first.
