Thanks MaryBeth, I bookmarked her site after promoguy posted a link to it. I just have not had time to look at all of the recipes yet, including that one. I did make marlboro man's second favorite sandwich from that site and it was a hit with John. (OK, I added tomatoes and red onions and arugula and served it on a toasted baguette, but it was KIND OF similiar!)

I heard this romantic poem today on the radio that reminded me of all the food-lovers on this thread...
"You made crusty bread rolls... " by Gary Johnson.
You made crusty bread rolls...
You made crusty bread rolls filled with chunks of brie
And minced garlic and drizzled with olive oil
And baked them until the brie was bubbly
And we ate them thoughtfully, our legs coiled
Together under the table And then salmon with dill
And lemon and whole-wheat cous cous
Baked with garlic and fresh ginger, and a hill
Of green beans and carrots roasted with honey and tofu.
it was beautiful, the candles and linens and silver,
The winter sun setting on our snowy street,
Me with my hand on your leg, you, my lover,
In your jeans and green T-shirt and beautiful feet.
How simple life is. We buy a fish. We are fed.
We sit close to each other, we talk and then we go to bed.

I did add one more course that was not in the poem. Seared jumbo sea scallops:

The couscous was really excellent. I even had some of the leftovers for breakfast this morning!
(BTW, this was dinner for four people, so no green t-shirt and feet part.

here's what was doing in my kitchen this weekend:
Saturday brunch - a savory bread pudding

Sunday dinner - a Southwestern meatloaf. It doesn't look that good in the photo but it was pretty tasty. A little crumbly though so maybe it needed more breadcrumbs

Recipe is from here http://coconutlime.blogspot.com/2008/03 ... tloaf.html
Dessert - some berries and toasted angel food cake.

Marybeth, I love the portobello mushroom lasagna recipe from the Barefoot Contessa. I think it is in her most recent cookbook--the pink one. If you don't have that book I'll type it out for you.
One caveat, though....it does not reheat well.

I have one of her books but not sure which. I will look there first or on food network. maybe it's there.
the bread pudding was just something I put together myself. I used some whole wheat croissants that I had in the freezer for the bread. Then I made an egg mixture of eggs, milk, salt, pepper, green onion, herbs de provence and some parmesan cheese. It was tasty but could have eggier for my tastes. I used a total of 4 eggs and made 2 of those dishes you see.

Becky, is this it? Or similar?
