Well, I have to admit that I can't think of anyplace else I'd rather live. Where is your hubby from originally? [/quote]

San Diego, the trip was to attend his 30th H.S. reunion. We are not in a position to make a move now. We both have elderly parents here... but I have to confess I've been looking at San Diego real estate listings all week :-)

If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand time.....DO NOT post pictures of SoCal. You want that I5 to get any more crowded. If you do it one more time, and I mean it, I will post all of my pictures taken locally of the Northridge earthquake.

Mary Beth - I keep tellin' ya to get your butt out here! :D Nice drive from our place up the coast through Big Sur to Monterey!

Steve - I usually Photoshop my pictures a lot to get them to look like it looked to me when I was there taking the picture. On these all I did was fix the contrast a little. It was an exceptionally awesome day. I had to shoot around the crowd that was there for "The Battle of the Mariachis". Unfortunately it was underwhelming and not much of a battle. Maybe we were there at the wrong time.

sailorgirl - Ahhh... San Diego...very nice! It's probably one of the cleanest cities I've seen! Good time to buy right now, maybe you could snag a place while prices are low and then rent it out for a few years before you moved?

Promoguy - Oh Allan, guilty as charged! I can't help but share it. And it seems like every picture I take around here looks like that...what's a girl to do? :P Post your earthquake pictures if you must. Actually, I wish you would, I'd love to see them! (p.s. did you notice I posted one more?)

This stream is walking distance from our house. I go here to reflect on life sometimes.

My thoughts exactly! We just have to get by college tuition first!

CG, Here's a few

The ones below are about a couple of miles from the house. We live about four miles from the Northridge epicenter.

Just to show the power of the earthquake, below is a picture taken in Santa Monica about 30 miles from the epicenter.

I remember that apartment house that's collapsed in on itself (the one with the yellow tape). I remember people wanting to go in and get their stuff, but they weren't allowed to because it was so unstable. Yep, an earthquake can certainly cause some damage, but unlike a tornado, it doesn't wipe everything off the map several times a year. :) I'll still take earthquake country! Rock n' roll!

Nice try Promoguy, but I'm not deterred. My office is two blocks from Ground Zero. I learned that day to live each day to the fullest and when its your time it your time.

Well said sailorgirl...another thing you learn is that material possessions are just things so don't put too much stake in them as one day, they may be gone.

CG-the building you're thinking of is the one that was on Reseda Blvd. It actually pancaked three floors onto itself. The one you see is one around the corner from our house.

Chet - Practically the whole picture is stream. See how the rocks and the branches are reflected in the water? :D
