Hi Ruth, On your restaurant closing site there is an evening menu for the Mojo Cafe'. I've never been there, but it sure seems STJ reasonable. I may have to give it a try.

How about Compass Rose at Pastory? Very nice view and reasonable. Our waitress was very friendly.

I don't know about the availability on STJ but on STT there are mobile food trucks parked in various roadsides and beaches that serve delicious local food at reasonable prices - most do have patties, pate etc and great soup, stewed meats over rice or dumplings, curried goat and chix, fried fish etc.
Some visitors are reluctant to try these places but they have a dedicated local clientele that commonly eat there regularly so you have to realize the food is good and wholesome - just very different than what a stateside visitor may be used to.
I recommend Matthew's Yellow Truck just off the road outside Island Beachcomber on the airport road and eat there frequently at the picnic table under the tree aside.

mindehankins,
Yes, Mojo Cafe is still open. They serve a good breakfast and lunch and then have a different menu at night. Here is a link to the night-time menu. We love it.
