54B, this is the best post I have read in years.......funny, creative, spot on!!!
Re: What Kind Of VIOL Forum Member Are You?
Thank you again to everyone for the nice comments...JJShaw, to answer your question, no, never had a book published. My amateur writer status is still in tact, but if I ever publish something, I'll be sure to let you know...I'll give you the Friend & Kin discount.
I'd love to write a book about STJ...maybe similar to Pam Gaffin's book, but instead of giving details about each place and how to get there, I'd share experiences I've had at each place.
I guess the trick is finding a way to do it so that even the people who've never been to STJ can enjoy reading it.
Now if I could just find a publisher who wants to bankroll a 3 month stay on STJ for me to do some "research."

So. Very. Funny!
After meeting and having fun with so many forumites, one of the first things we talk about is how different people are in person. I think people have a different voice when they write. I'll stop there, no need for TMI?
Cheers, RickG

Good stuff!
I think its interesting that as some old timers/frequent posters drop out or move on to other social network platforms others pop up to take their place here which is a good thing and keeps fresh perspectives.
And on one hand, it was quite unfortunate that there was enough politically motivated rancor here on the Off Topic Forum starting in 08 that it got unpleasant for some and may have alienated others, to the point where sanctions were finally taken by Anthony in 2010. But, on the other hand, nothing remotely approaching that stuff has happened since those actions were taken. Ultimately, it's his sandbox we get to play in and that should be respected AND appreciated!

For some reason I'm still here and I guess I'm glad I never had any use for the off topic forum. Any way for those of you on island, and there are a lot of us here, sorry I missed you all last night at the BB. We strolled through between 4 and 5 after a or so drink at Motu and my group needed to go home. Sorry. Later.
