For us it doesnt matter if it has one or not..because chances are, we are not getting into it anyway..especially a private one..where people have been doing..lord knows what..(cause thats just what you do on a Honeymoon) and I know the are clorinated and hopefully cleaned...but UT UH..not me..or my kids...I would be more apt to use a public one where you cant do Lord knows what..my oldest son got a terrible Staph infection from one a few yrs back...since then...no way !!!

Thank you all again for all the great advice, opinons and experiences! We have decided to make the plunge and add a hot tub, hopefully before Winter comes! That means we'll need to do some work prior to installing it (site prep, coordinating the electrician, delivery, etc) so I guess we'll just have to come down this Fall to get things set (twist my arm!). Rest assured - it will be kept spotless!
We are also considering adding some solar tubing to raise the temp of the pool a few degrees in the Winter months just to take the initial edge off, but not so much that it is not refreshing on a hot day. I think if we can at least match the ocean temperature it would be perfect!
Thanks again for all your help!
