When we first went to STJ it seemed like everybody pronounced it Caribe, but then about 3 or 4 years ago, in one of my favorite Coral Bay establishments, I was corrected by a server, and in a very snotty way,was told that it was pronounced Carib. The funny thing is, I have a West Indian friend from Grenada that works at our local beer store here in MD. He pronounces it Caribe.i

Probably the same snooty, male, server in Coral Bay that we encountered on numerous times. Now, depending on our moods, we mispronounce as much as we can when around him. Ticks him off.
