I hadnt talked to her since late August, tried calling her cell and work, and emailed her numerous times. I had a week off from work to get stuff planned, and couldnt get a hold of her. She calls me back Tuesday, and gives this long story about she went to NY for vacation, got put in the hospital for a few days, and didnt have her cell or ipad on her. So, after she apologized up and down for no communication, we decided to just get moving. She called Wed, and said she would have a full invoice/list of stuff she had planned by that evening. As of now (Monday morning), I still havent heard from her, again, after calling a few times and emailing. So last night I sent an email letting her go. Im 11 days from my wedding, and had no quotes on Beer/liquor, DJ, decorations, church music, flowers. All that we had was her last email to us July 29th about the menu and food. Thats it. And, we found out who the Chef was, and he hadnt gotten any details, and hadnt gotten paid.
It sucks, and she was a nice lady, but I cant have only a menu 11 days before the wedding, and a planner I cant get a hold of. So, as Ive found to be true in most people in St. John, they have gone above and beyond willing to help us out. And Im ok with this, I know whats important. Im going to have the best day with my beautiful bride, even if I have an ipod playing and hot dogs for dinner. Thanks for the replies, Ill keep you all posted as much as I can. And thanks for all your help.
oh my god. what a nightmare! I really hope that everything works out for you guys--have you been able to identify another planner? i feel jus awful for you guys!

What a mess! You have a great attitude about it though. I stayed up in Virgin Grand Estates a couple of months ago, there are great views from there--awesome sunsets--so that will be good for your photos. Congratulations to you!

High Tide is a perfect place to have some wedding events...contact them about hosting ... I know there's going to be a live band playing there next week from North Carolina and you might be able to book a party with a fabulous band (can you tell my husband's in the band)...Jimbo and Kelli are great to work with at High Tide and the food and views are unbeatable.

I'm so sorry about your wedding planner. I do believe that no matter what, you'll have a fantastic time and all will be well!

We had no plans for music for our reception and last minute a friend brought her new boyfriend who was a DJ :) Things will be wonderful.

If you need specific help with ANYTHING, this is the forum to help you - just put your questions out there and all will help.

Congratulations to you and your new bride!

Well, a little update. Wedding planner got back with us, apologized, and is refunding our money. I must say, as mad as we were, she dealt with it the right way, and we are grateful. Catering, equipment rental, flowers, ect, all got booked this week. The people we have dealt with couldnt be more awesome! This is gonna be good! Were now looking at Calypso or Scubadoo for a day sail/snorkel trip. And cant wait to get there to explore. Thanks again for all the kind words, and wishes. 5 DAYS!!!!!

Congratulations. October 7 is an excellent wedding date. We will be celebrating 34 years that day.

Glad everything is falling into place for you.
