My 9 year old son always wears the snorkel vest with the valve. His is neon yellow! He hated it last trip though cause I think the sand mixed with the salt water and strap turned him into Rash Boy (poor thing). I was thinking about purchasing a flotation belt for him to use next time instead.

There are some really good points made here. Even though I love snorkeling with the noodles, none of us besides the little man usually take any extra floating precautions. I think we will all try the belts next trip!
