Wakey,

How does one throttle the updates of those people that post something every minute. I defriended 2 people because I got sooo tired of seeing what farm thing they did ! I am about to defriend someone else who doesn't have a life...not getting there posts would be much nicer.

I just figured it out...thanks anyway!

Please indulge a question from a Facebook novice... if I unfriend someone, how do they know? Is it just because I'm not on their friend list anymore, or do they get some kind of message that they've been whacked from my list?

Just wondering because I want to stop seeing posts from someone who is perfectly pleasant, but she and her friends all post -- continuously -- in a language I don't speak or read, so I have pages of all this stuff that I don't care about.

Thanks everybody.

OK, back to paying attention to Pip. You rock dude.

there is no message sent when you unfriend. however, you can also just "hide" someone. when you see them on your news feed look over on the right side of the post and a little drop down will appear (when you cursor over it) and you can select to hide that person.

You can also turn off all the quizzes and other various notifications that games generate.

Wakey,

You are my hero! Now I won't have to defriend or see all those stupid quiz results.

If I see one more Mafia Wars request from these people (you know who you are) I may just puke. Everyday, every hour, don't they have a life?????? :?

So, Wakey, can I turn off the mafia and new rollercoaster stuff and STILL get their updates, pictures, etc.?? Or will I have to turn off both??

Gina

Edited: I did it!! I will not know anything about the mafia or little farms every again! Thanks Wakey!

you can choose to hide the games or the person or both if you prefer!

I like Facebook a lot more since Mary Beth told me how to hide the games.
Another thing to do is create Friend Lists so you can look at postings by groups. For instance, I have a list for Family, one for people who live on St. John, one for forumites, one for classmates. I can look at the news feed for one list at a time and it makes it easier for me to focus.

Oh, and I sincerely hope Rob S. had a great Monday and made lots of people laugh, as he usually does.

Sweet. I figured out how to eliminate all of the "game" status updates on FB but, how do you create those groups, Ruth? That sounds like a wonderful option.

Please do like Wakey did and provide pix of the screen. Ubber helpful!!

Excuse me....I have to run over to Facebook now and make some very clever and funny posts now so that I can avoid being hidden.

I hid someone because of all the games results (don't worry, it's none of you guys), but now that I find I can just hide the games, how do I "unhide" the person since they don't show up in my feed any more?
