Our first time with STJ Car Rental this coming April- always used Penn's in the past, but their prices have skyrocketed.

Does STJ Car Rental have sufficient parking for customers while visiting Cruz Bay? Penn's was always good for that.
Before this past summer, they allowed us to park in their lot during the day or in the evening. In 2006, we could even park across the street by The Fish Trap and had no problems.

This past trip? They never let us back on the property. That was not cool at all. Having to pay to park in Slimman's lot while we did a day sail pissed us off. Pissed us off a LOT.

I'm not using them again

I don't have a favorite. I'm still hoping for that magical moment to occur, but it hasn't happened yet.

I liked Paris' prices and they were nice to work with but the "absolutely no sand in this vehicle" policy is ridiculous. I don't want to spend a good chunk of my last evening on island detailing a car.

That's a good point and I hope this is generally true. We had one experience at Vie's where, after we ate, DH went up to the window and complimented Vie on the food. He then asked "How long have you had your business here?" She completely ignored him, even with the compliment. Maybe she thought it was none of his business how long she had been there, but he was just being nice. Maybe she was having a bad day. I don't know, at the time I thought it was because he didn't say "good afternoon" first, even though we had already been through that routine when we ordered and paid for our food.

After that, we tried to remember the island greeting every time we approached someone.

I sure hope Miss Vie was just having a bad day. She has been so sweet to us on many occasions. I wonder if our kids (who are TRAINED to be polite) help. I worried about the kid receptivity before our first trip with them but everyone on STJ has been so kind to them and very willing to accommodate them. Maybe they are our secret weapon!
