Zozo's would be good from your list. But consider Hinds Restaurant for an over the top gourmet dinner. In Cruz Bay just up from the Police Dept.

Have you considered the Balcony? We would go there over Zozo's. Marcia and I grew up in Chicago and are used to snooty restaurants. Our last experience at Zozo's put even the snootiest Chicago restaurant to shame. But, the bar area is nice. In my opinion, however, the view from the Balcony is nicer.

Snooty? Really? I didn't find that at all. Are you saying the staff was snooty or did you find the food snooty (can food be snooty?).

Hi Kathy! If you do in fact choose Zo-zo's, make a reservation to sit at the bar! Hopefully Carlos will be bartending! He makes a margarita that is simply off the hook!!! We've never eaten away from the bar at Zo-Zo's, but I can tell you the service at the bar is impeccable and the food (from app to entree to dessert) ranks with the best ever I've had! They offer nightly specials and have a fine selection of wine.
Take a look...
The Caprese Salad was excellent!
The Bruschetta had a homemade sausage in it that was really really good!
Perhaps one of the best filets I've ever had...
My sister RAVED about the Osso Bucco...
Wonderful!
The WARM Chocolate Torte is NOT to be missed!!!
Okay...so now my mouth is watering...

They were building Waterfront Bistro when we were there last January- we were watching them while we were having lunch next door on a rainy Martin Luther King Day. You've all just convinced me to try it our first night, I'm calling to make a res right now! Thanks!

We had some really bad service (and I don't mean island time service) at the Balcony so I don't recommend it - great view and the food was good but I won't go back due to service (20 minutes to first beverage and my mother, who is very allergic to dairy, ordered a cuban with no cheese; came with cheese; we sent it back and said, don't pick it apart, make a new one. Well, they picked it apart and although my mother picked at it avoiding anything she thought touched cheese, she ended up sick later that evening).
On the other hand, we loved RhumbLine, including the meat and potato ones in our crowd. Food was great, service was great, and they were very accommodating to allergies and the veggies in our group.

I have to agree with Pete on Zozo's, and we have eaten at the majority of the finest restuarants here and never got that impression. It may have been that evening but we weren't impressed with the whole atmosphere.
The Balcony is really good! We ate there twice last summer, and we only eat at a restaurant twice if we really like the food and the atmosphere.

OK, if you are planning on lobster at MM I would call first - they are out about 50% of the time (even though the sign is outside) I did just read a t/r and the general thought is that they wont go back as they have changed the menu - no longer serving the "island" style sides but mashed potatoes and beans (I think) I'll see if I can remember who wrote the t/r.
I would try Waterfront Bistro or ZoZo's

Definitely Zozo's at the railing for romantic dinner at sunset. Our service was excellent, the food outstanding and the ambience was, for us, the best of our trip. We were there this past July.

I would choose Asolare for a special celebration without any hesitation. We've gone there every year for our anniversary dinner. We went to Zozo's this November because of the great reviews it gets on this forum. It was very good but it was not the incredible view and great food we've consistently gotten at Asolare for the past seven years. Rhumblines is alos a solid choice.

I would go with Zozo's hands down for total package - food, service, ambiance and view. I am sorry to see that some had a snooty experience but ours was very comfortable and wonderful.
Rhumblines also has a great little vibe but if you have spicy averse people be forewarned it was hard to find a dish that wasn't except for the kids menu.

Rhumblines is my favorite restaurant on island....sometimes I think it is the food and the ambience but pretty much it is my crush on Jerome.....lol

I had a good meal at Morgan's Mango not on this last trip, but two trips ago. It is true that they didn't have "island" side items. I got steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes, but I was just there for the lobster so it didn't break my heart.
Although we arrived early and they were just about out of lobster when we got there. Always call ahead.
